this is why i gave up tv. i do not need to know what a sad world we live in. i am happy in my bubble.
I'm with Vanessa on this one. I killed my TV 2 years ago. I used to be a CNN junkie... I am so much more optimistic now. :thumb:

Ditto for me. I own an HD and all I use it for is playing Super Nintendo. And sometimes drying clothes. The internet guy thought I was insane when I declined the cable deal. Couldn't wrap his head around someone not watching TV.

I used to be a news junkie but found I didn't really like the content thrown in front of me. I will tune into BBC World and the local Global news now and then. Really the HD shows I enjoy now are anything with Anthony Bourdain. I would love his job. Travel, eat, drink and see areas that many tourist would never see. I have it on now and he is in Rio de Janeiro. It is now on my bucket list

I also like to have music documentaries or concerts on the tube and have tuned into the new HIFI channel frequently.

Stuff like this has always been going on, just now it gets taped. With about a million cops in Canada and the Usa even if 1% are gun happy morons, that's a lot of them.

But for news, I find most American news to be too politics based. I started watching Russian TV when I was in Amsterdam once. Its such a better news channel than anything we have. CNN Europe is way better too.

I mean what did American news cover today? 90% obamacare with 10% the latest adventures of Zimmerman.

I have television only for hockey purposes, since Centre Ice is useless if there's broadcasted feeds in your area.

Wait, that's not true. I also keep it for the NatGeo channel and MysteryTV. I have a strange compulsion to watch Border Security and hours upon hours of Law and Order.

i think i need to change the title of this thread
"tv or not tv that is the question"

Same here. I pay almost $70 a month for wifi.

I got a flyer offering a bundle of TV, internet and home phone for $75 (for the first 3 months then it goes to $115)

Agreed. I like to watch what I want, when I want, rather than have some box talking to me.

Anthony Bourdain is one of my crushes <3  Talk foodie to me baby!!!
