I'm addicted to trails.
I must say that the weather has been so nice, I just can't stop going for these crazy trails, full of rocks and mud but after I'm done I feel so good. Actually feels super good during too.
Now I started running through it, it's not easy but my friends are all doing it so I have to keep up.
I did the Grouse Grind a few times this year but I just feel like it's more like a torture then fun trail.
And top of it you have to pay coming down:(
Oh, and they will close it too soon if not they already did.

Should I go tomorrow too? Hmmmm......
Ok, gym time now after the hike :)

That's a great addiction to have. Nothing makes you feel more alive than being out in nature .... well almost nothing :eyebrows:

Szabina, I also have an addiction, but it doesn't involve trails.............although at times I have to navigate around a bush to enter the 'tunnel of love'..
Some grinding is involved, but never torture, just a fun ride........ and ironically, with my addiction, I have to pay before going in.

As an old admirer, it's nice to see you back................Keep smiling.:)

you can avoid paying for the gondola by walking down Grousse.
I woudn't recommend that. It's not much of a workout, also it's a serious stress on the knees and 30 min wasted. To me, not worth it just to save $10.
If going regularly, annual pass at $109 is just fine. Works as an extra incentive to go too.

Exactly, thats the reason, its not really the 10$. Trail is very narrow and lot of people coming up, going down is crazy.

So many other great trails, where i go i hike for a whole hour sometimes at least and I dont see anybody, I love it.

I love running on trails! I hate treadmills...they make me feel like a caged hamster on a wheel.
+1 it's very disconcerting to be walking or running and not go anywhere.

that's why I mountain bike, both DH and Cross country
Me too although it's cross country for me, mostly. I haven't gone in awhile since my bike packed it in last year but I plan on getting a new one for Christmas (my gift to myself) and start tearing it up come spring.

Walking/hiking be it on a trail or in the city is a great way to stay in shape without very much overexertion. When I go to Vancouver, I love just walking the street. When I was in Europe i didn't have a car and a lot of the times I'd just walk to where I needed to go. Lost 12 pounds in 24 days there, mainly because of all the walking I did.

Szabina, if you are looking for new trails and don't mind venturing beyond the City of Vancouver, Campbell Valley Park in Langley might be a place you will enjoy. The trails are built on and around a natural wetland and it has many unique birds and other animals one probably won't see anywhere else. the trails aren't super challenging, although one of them leads to the old Langley Speedway and there are these steep stairs to climb which takes to a meadow which I think used to belong to people who raised horses (based on some of the structures that are still there). Might be a place to check out ;)

Get yourself some good snowshoes, you can have fun year round. Some snowshoes and some tight white snowpants and you are all set. Cypress has some good trails all free.
