no, only if the disease was successfully passed on to you - a partner may have had something but you might not have had that disease passed on to you. in that case you would test negative for any diseases but the partner might still be carrying the disease. you can get an idea what the odds of transmission are in the health nurse's posts in the health section

Hmm. Ok. Getting some odd excuses of why my partner took an abrubt 3 month vacay from sex with me (every excuse in the book) and now everything's fine again.

Thanks.

Thanks.

possibly a pregnancy? many pregnancies miscarry around the 3 month mark

when you first post, and you get the 'cannot post within 90 seconds' warning, ignore it. instead, navigate back to the post by clicking on one of the blue links located near the top of the page, and you will find that your first post actually went through ok

If you are just dating - now is the time to get out - if you are married - well - I'm sorry to hear that :(

Cowboy is right. Three months is generally the "magic date" for pregnancy.
Depending on your SO she may have issues associated with it or just be overly worried. I'm not a doc but I don't recall it being otherwise a reason to abstain.
Or may she had other female issues that we have no idea about as guys.
This is where honest open communication would come into play.

Aww... Didn't think about that. I'd feel bad if it weren't for the empty bottle of azithromycin that she had in her purse. No, I wasn't snooping... She was wasted last night and dumped all her shit on the bed. Hard not to take a looksy at the contents in that situation. She says it's from before she met me, like someone would carry that around for six months. No date, no name on the bottle. Must be from a walk in clinic?

I wouldn't be terribly upset if she got something from someone else, part of the way we live... but I need to know and loathe the lying more than the STI itself (is that weird?). So I can't ask the doctor to look up when the infection was reported? Can he even access that?

Well the upside is she didn't share something with you and the downside is you two don't communicate to keep each other safe.

Are you using condoms with her? Might be a wise choice IMHO

No, not stupid and many people falsely trust some people to do the right thing and then get a huge wake up call later. I have had my own wake up calls (not STI's) and it does shake you up when you have trusted someone implicitly.

BTW her Dr is not allowed to give up any information to you and the onus is on her to inform you

Yeah I Googled it.
I'm in "the biz". I give out a lot of it. Something to remember is that it is mostly used for chest/sinus infections too. You seem like you have a reason to be suspicious though.

You can only take i think 5-7 days of antibiotics. So she would have be "cured" months ago.

Not correct V.

I got an infection from an insect bite. My choice was an IV drip at the ER or 14 days of a very potent antibiotic. Since I didn't want to spend a whole day in an ER waiting for an IV, I chose the latter.

Each infection is different and each antibiotic has a different acting time. I don't think it's accurate to compare the two. And as Amigo said this stuff is used for other things as well, it's not exclusively an STI treatment.
Agreed. STI treatment doesn't require months if it is bacterial. BBBs infection was a soft tissue infection which is much harder to treat if it gets bad.
