Caught up with an old gal pal I knew in the biz and we got to chatting about old times; one topic we ventured into was "what was the most uncomfortable part of the biz to you?" and we both agreed that hovering over a groin that had, even a mild, case of jock itch just before you were gonna do the bj was tough. Trying to keep a lovely smile on your lips while you unroll the condom onto the cock, and making sure you don't touch any of the infected area during engagement, and ignoring the mild sulphuric smell...yup.....not fond memories.

Jock itch, tinea cruris, is a common affliction amongst men, especially desk jockeys, professional drivers, and overweight men. It grows in damp, warm folds of skin; lots of guys don't know they have it, especially if the belly has gotten too prominent to see over. It presents as a redness along the inside of the thighs, spreading into the testicles and down through to the anus; it has a very strong border between affected skin and healthy skin, occasionally darkening to purple. It can be mildly, or very itchy. Tinea cruris is also called ringworm of the groin. It is contagious.

It does not reflect poor hygiene, and frequent washing with soap and water can exacerbate the condition...also, don't try to cover the odour with cologne; that will also make the condition worse.

Gold Bond medicated powder is among the best topicals to eliminate the fungus that causes this problem. You need to use it for a minimum of 4 weeks to completely destroy the beasties, also, blow drying the area on a low setting after a shower is helpful...use towels only once and wash in hot, hot water.

Keeping tinea at bay will always ensure that the smile on those lovely lips, as they swoop down to envelope your cock, is real...

i stay in a lot of back country motels when i'm travelling for work, and i find lately that their showers are almost invariably infected with athlete's foot; which i believe is essentially the same fungus. after half a dozen bouts with athlete's foot (they also take 4 to 6 weeks to cure) i now religiously use flip-flops in the shower as a preventative measure. touch wood, i haven't had a case since i started using the flip-flops several years ago

i've had a number of escorts react defensively when i wear my flip-flops into their shower, saying there's no athlete's foot in their showers. well, there just might be as you never know the foot hygiene of the last customer, but more importantly, i never know whether i'm carrying a case from a recent trip that hasn't yet manifested itself. and so i wear the flip-flops to stop the spread of this scourge

i have to say though, i got a case of athlete's foot in china that spread like wildfire through my family, then through their friends from sleep-overs. it took some pretty diligent efforts on everybody's parts to contain that one

Clotrimazole 1% is an antifungal medication commonly used in the treatment of fungal infections such as vaginal yeast infections, oral thrush, and ringworm. It is also used to treat athlete's foot and jock itch.

Most pharmacies, including the major supermarkets, carry this cream in a tube. It works great for athlete's foot and jock itch. I find that powders tend to fall off the skin and are not as effective as creams.

Daily use I recommend "Fresh Balls" which is basically a liquid version of Gold Bond. They also have "Fresh Breasts" for the ladies too ;)

If you do start to get a red rashy groin area you can certainly go the route that mik has suggested as it works very well. If you want to go more of a natural way that I have also found to be effective try a Calendula cream. This stuff is really quite amazing and its a herbal remedy. I have put it on in grown hairs, on bug bites i.e. spider bites and wasp stings as well as using it to help with jock itch. Its quite amazing stuff.

Yup...lot of good stuff on this page. One of the cautions I read on a page about treatment is to go the whole four weeks with medication. These beasties are fungus that can live on your skin without being detected before the effects are seen. Biggest problem is stopping the treatment because the skin looks good and the itching is gone.

Tinea is indeed the same fungus responsible for athletes foot. The suffix changes in relation to the part of the body it attacks. I have seen photos of it on arm pits...just google...but not after you've eaten.

I know someone who get a terrible case of tinea unguium, which is this nasty fungus, under their toenails...the unguium refers to the toes...and she got that showering in a hospital. Her toenails basically turned chalky and soft and started falling off...it is very difficult to eradicate from the toenails and some people go on oral drugs, which can be hard on the liver. This type of tinea is common in older people, especially those with diabetes.

What I like about powder forms of medication in sweaty areas of the body is the way they keep things a bit drier..but you do have to reapply. Putting liquids on an already moist and sweaty area seems sort of sticky.

There is a yeast infection that can look like jock itch. The medication is different because this is a bacterial infection...

go to your doctor if you have any itching...sooner than later...and don't be embarrassed...it is very common
