That is true. Guess it was naive of me to think that if that is the point of the board, you would not find that type of advertiser here, the one who succumbs to those techniques, actually advertising on this board.

The problem, as both vancity cowboy and I have attempted to point out, is that currently there is at least one current paying advertiser (making the user name red -- and it is a "lady's name" in this instance) using a picture in the ad that can be traced to an online source by doing a google image search. vancity cowboy even references another advertiser but as I'm only confident about the new one that I searched earlier in the day, I have to admit that I'm not sure of who that other advertiser might be off hand. It's true that it's rare to find this among the true independent ladies in red but I would still recommend that any newbie do their due diligence and research before assuming that someone is a safe bet just because they happen to have ads posted as or by a paying advertiser on this site.
Absolutely, there are a few ladies here that have photos with an unnecessary amount of photo shop or that have aged 1 year every three. Hell one paid advertiser is younger now than when I joined 6 years ago. IMHO that and a gross underestimate/fabrication of weight is bait and switch. Yes I know most of us have no real clue of what 125 vs 135 looks like but when advertised as 130 and a lady of closer to 180 opens the door that's a lie plain and simple. As long as a lady looks close to the picture she advertises with that's fine but when the pictures are clearly 10 years old I'm just going to walk.

I thought I would bump this thread. It seems there are still some members that are either unaware of tineye and google image search or are possibly using just tineye and not getting results for images that are being taken from the net. As we've seen over time, tineye is not foolproof. I should note that Google Image Search is not foolproof either. But it's better to have the option for a "second opinion" of sorts than to rely solely on one tool.
The method of using Google Image Search posted by Ms. Sarah here is more efficient than the roundabout way I originally posted:

it's not always so, but generally you can count on the pixelated faces or those with the big annoying white light over the faces to be fraudulent pics. a good photographer knows how to hide the facial features using camera angles, shadows and locks of hair. they wouldn't be caught dead using pixels or the white light or the fake scribbling out or any of those techniques

So, MM, you are suggestion that there are currently three advertisers here who are "independent" and using fake pics? Because I sort of expect it from an agency (fake pics, that is). Maybe we need to start to report those ads more often using the reason: fake pics.
