Who actually likes the new erslist website?

Personally, I don't like the new look and feel. The only positive thing I can say about the new site is that the search engine is much better than before.

Other than that, they released the new site before it was completed... sections like ersbook, ersdir aren't available; hence, the new website is currently a stripped down version of the old one.

Also, the "Take Cover" button is useless... sure it takes you to a non escort like page; however, if anyone is looking at your computer, they'll still see that the tab says "Female Escorts | ERSList". Either fix that or scrap the whole idea.

One more thing... why didn't they design a mobile version of the user interface for people looking at the site from their smart phones? That would have been a big win! As it stands, the previous web site was much easier to view on the smart phone. The new site sucks for this.

Dare I say that I like it! I do. I see Nik trying hard to get the bugs sorted out. He has let us know every step of the way about the changes and improvements as they are made. Every time I contact him with questions or problems he is always quick to respond. I am comfortable on the site now, but t must admit I was nervous about the change at first. A year from now this will all be a distant memory.

As an SP there are new ways to advertise i really like. Don't forget, you can't please everyone all the time. :)

edit: e.g. right colum, auto repost, $1 to bump. If you only work "part time" your ad budget has dropped significantly.

I don't really like it but to be honest have not spent much time trying to navigate it. FWIW, I tend to go by reviews here on SP's and the Ads here that are posted.

erslist, vancityads and BP Vancouver are all the same in my mind; they allow hundreds of asian micro ads with bait and switch SP's. You have to spend half your time on tineye checking to see if the pics are real or stolen off of another website. It is probably the biggest reason I stopped seeing Asian SP's.

Dis like it. There are still an assload of Asian ads being reposted over and over.

I'm sticking to BP and CL.

I dont like it either.

Much preferred it the way it was. Pay 100 for feature, and side ad.
Way more expensive now if we are to keep our featured and side ad for the month as well as the posting of each ad and bumping them.

I think having the ads with the prices screaming out is not cool at all. Looks kinda tacky to me.

maybe its my browser (safari) or settings, but if i want to look at a second photo i have to click it, and another window opens.
i prefer the cl style of hovering over a pic to see the enlargement.

I notice the SPs have already found ways to "work around" the new search functions.
For instance you can screen for an SP charging $200/hr.
But then in the body of her ad, the $200/hr is magically completely different, always higher.
Or gets changed to a half hour instead. Thats shady

Okay, well what do you guys think of the Right Column Ads? Do you click on them or even read them? Would you consider the right hand column like the "new" feature section?

I am interested in knowing what you all think about the right hand column ads.:)

It's not shady, it's because you can only put one price in there, so it's not the ladies fault. Most ladies have more than one rate, some have massage rates and FS rates or specialty rates.

I'm pretty sure everyone already knows how I feel about the site by now and am bias to a new one.

So then its the sites fault that the SPs are stating false hourly rates to grab attention?

If a car dealer advertises a car for $499 a month, and the fine print in the ad states $499 biweekly....its not shady?

Oh give it a rest! What gives with you saying what rates an sp can post/not post!
This thread is about who actually likes the new erslist.
So I will comment as I like thanks

I find it to be shady when in her headline she puts $200/hr. When its not actually what she charges per hour.
That might be a little too complicated for you to comprehend.

Ok, bcneil, you obviously use the site a lot then and have well formed opinions. Please...tell me what you think about the right column ads. Do you even notice them?
You mean the ones under all the search features? The blocks with a picture and 3 lines?
I don't really check them out. My main thing I search for is location.
Those ads don't usually state where they are even from. But if I search for say "Vancouver only", all the ladies that use those right column ads will be included in my search who are in Vancouver anyways.

Yes, that is what I mean. We refer to them as Right Column Ads. I do put my location in the ad, because I agree that it is (one of the) top influences in the clients decision.

edit: But the right column ad is not the "new feature section". okay.

re: the right column ads.
i very rarely check or click. aren't these ads redundant? plus they don't really indicate that a given sp is working on the day, unlike a gal who has recently posted.

re: vanessa's comment about location. very true. whom i will try to contact depends very much on where i expect to be on a horny day.
'vancouver' 'east van' 'downtown'... tells me little. (note that i am a walker 1st driver 2nd). i would love a nearby intersection feature that would at least encourage providers to indicate their location more closely.

I appreciate this feedback. Honestly, we're not trying to be shady. Perhaps this is an issue that Nik can address. If my offer is for a 2-hour pampering session (very popular, btw) I hate that I have to place $350/hr in that box, because obviously it throws a few guys off. I immediately add, in the ad, that the $350 is for 2-hours, but it does confuse things somewhat, and it's not my fault, nor me trying to be Slim Shady!

I would say that if you do have an hourly rate then use it. If that two-hour special is your minimum time then it would be $175 per hour.

To be honest, average prices do not scare me off. I use the filters to eliminate the very low end, and the very high end, so that I can choose from the area that I am interested in. It should benefit both parties - you don't want tire-kicking phone calls from people who are after a different price range (and don't read fine print)

As far as the ads on the side - I have clicked on one or two, but most of the time I don't notice them. I think most of us have trained our eyes to avoid ads.

Thank you for this useful feedback, yazoo. I'm wondering if this wouldn't be equally confusing though...if someone see $175 per hour, but it turns out that it's a 2-hour session. They might think I was trying to unfairly up-sell them, once I got their attention?

I don't think so - I'm paid by the hour - with a minimum of 7.5 hours :). I don't find it confusing. Safeway's got rib steaks for $5.99/lb this week. I'm not going to get upset when I pick up the package and find the steak I want is $7.30.

Just don't bury the explanation in the fine print. Make your first line - My special is a minimum of two hours for $350 ($175/hr). Where I think it would get annoying is if you did offer one hour sessions, but for $250. If an ad just pisses off a customer, it isn't being very effective.
