I kinda hate those things....they work as long as you can get them hooked up. Many apartments have large sliding windows that these can't be connected. Hoses are too short. Lots of people who have these portables either have small windows where the kit will work or they look horrible and are pretty much the red green special. But when hooked up they cool nicely.I bought an awesome portable AC at London Drugs last year. I was grinning from ear to ear all night long as I slept in air conditioned comfort.
I love the heat but sympathize with those who can't escape the extreme stuff.

You should look into getting black out blinds!! That sun can be killer!I finally caved in and bought fans! I face English Bay, so I get the sun ALL day
I have so many windows though, I need to look into an air conditioner that plugs into the wall.
