Just finished reading Seven Days of Rage, the story of the so-called Craigslist Killer.
Basically this jerk (who committed suicide before his trial) stalked and robbed sex workers in 2009 in the Boston area and killed one. The story led to the crackdown on craigslist erotic services, but reading the prosecutor and District Attorney reasoning for going after craigslist shows how stupid they are.
Most of their comments make it seem like craigslist was the only way people meet and controlling the sex aspect of craigslist was supposed to solve all kinds of sex crimes.
The book did highlight, for me the need for women to be ever vigilant. This guy was clean cut and well spoken and the crimes happened in upscale hotels.
