i'm a bit curious.... as I dont see advertising and there's no fees that i know of. Whos started erslist and how does it make money?

And it is pronounced

"Erslist"

not "E.R.S. LIST"

ERS is short for ERotic Section.

So please, stop calling and saying you got my ad from E.R.S LIST. It is Erslist.

Thanks. :)

The women pay to advertise. Holy crap, there is a rash of the painfully obvious questions around here lately. Count the banner and side ads, dude's raking it in.

Not just banner and side ads, btw. There are a LOT of advertisers choosing the Basic, gives them 4 ads a day if unverified, that's where you see all the micro spamming from. 60/month, they pay for who knows how many accounts flooding the site. Any unverified account you see with more than one post a day is paying 60/month.

And how exactly would you know how it's pronounced, Missy? :D

How can it possibly bother you what they call it?

Happy dance that they're calling! :pound:

I disagree with you. While you may be correct that "ERS" stands for "Erotic Section" (it can also be argued that it could stand for "erotic services"), with the exception of the lower case spelling of the "erslist" handle here on perb, all of the other instances that I can recall seeing the way it's spelled out in ads and posts here on perb and on the site itself is ERSList. On the site, where it's in all CAPS, it is spelled out as two separate words "ERS LIST" -- however, all other iterations seem to be "ERSList", "ERSBook", "ERSDir". To me, this strongly suggests that it is indeed "E-R-S" list and not "ears" list or the infinitely worse sounding "urrs" list that I've heard some others use to refer to it. Those sound so completely dumb to me that I simply refuse to call it that :p :D

I think I kind of like you, Alex. :high5:

Dance all you want.

I disagree with you.
I asked Nik.:)

Nik, if you are reading this could you back me up.

I would not say something that wasn't true.

If you knew someone was mispronouncing a word, would you continue to let them mispronounce it, or correct them?
If you have ever met someone who was learning a second language this would be just a natural consideration.

I put a happy face in there...did ya'll misinterpret me...?

And even if Nik says that you're right, I reiterate:

It doesn't matter if you are right or not - he will pronounce it the way he chooses.
.
Y'all can say it however you want. I get a good giggle out of the mispronunciations anyway.
