This now happens more than ever.Absolutely incredible that this stuff still happens!![]()
Hilarious!
They are actually. The ad is intended for Chinese men. (It's written in Chinese) The English part is not part of the ad, neither are the pictures.Because Asian men aren't looking to buy an Asian wife from overseas
The newspaper is not Chinese, or Japanese, it actually appears to be Vietnamese.Because Asian men aren't looking to buy an Asian wife from overseas - American (and Canadian) men are getting these papers and then reading the ad. What good would it be to their clientele (who's #1 language is English) if the ad was in Mandarin or Japanese or wherever said paper may be from?
That's too bad...I heard through the Grapevine Hunka was rushing to the bank this morning in his 98 Tercel!I did an image search for the pic provided. It has been shown on many sites all over the internet. But on no major news sites that I could find. Why would the mainstream media be covering this up?
So I did a search using just the image of the girls, and found that our beautiful VN exploited angels are actually Chinese models

The pics are actually located on this flickr page about 70% down the page:

So now is this concoction a Vietnamese marriage agency using stolen pics for their ad? Or is it some trumped up ad by an NGO with an agenda and desire for increased funding to fight this atrocity - all from the comfort of their western left-wing offices.
The English script below may not be related to the images at all.
Anyone able to read and translate?
English is the language of communication between Asians from different countries. I once visited a friend from Hong Kong (Cantonese) and also visiting him were people from Japan and Taiwan (Mandarin). Even if I hadn't of been there the only language they had in common was English.Yes this pic doesn't pass the smell test. Why place an English language ad in a Vietnamese paper, when your target is neither people living in Vietnam or speaking Vietnamese? Now I'm not saying that it doesn't happen. Just type Vietnamese Dating into Google to see lots of agencies making money off women who want to escape poverty - not for themselves but for the families that they love and support. This particular photoshop job is just trolling the interwebs though.
Geez, you're smart. will u marry me?I can read enough Mandarin to tell you that yes, the English below is a translation of the ad (not word for word, but same idea - it says Vietnam bride in 3 months then lists those same 4 points)
Yep, I dont know much about the frequency in Kanto or Kansai, but by what I have heard by my friend, it is fairly common in the Chubu region. (more countryside)Really? I hadn’t heard of that (buying Chinese wives), but met more than a few men with paid for Filipino wives. From what I could see on the outside, it seemed to work well for both the husband and wife. The marriages I saw with a Chinese wife, not bought form China but found in Karaoke bars etc... seemed to end very poorly for the men.
It was emailed to me by an old friend. I have no idea where he got it.Avery, do you know which newspaper this came from, or where did you get from?

Even if the girls are actually Chinese models, it doesn`t prove the ad is a scam. It may well be a scam, or perhaps whoever placed the ad is taking their cues from Backpage and using hijacked photos to promote less attractive girls.
In any case, I`m not buying. Like all the guys on this board, I prefer renting.![]()
Are you willing to potentially give up half of your assets for $50k though? Some of my Asian work buddies from HK, joke around that I should join them when they go on vacation to China.
They tell me I can make $50,000 easy, to bring a girl over as my wife.
Its buying a husband.
