Another report I read says the room rate is $65 a night. Probably not in the best part of LA. And she was travelling alone and was the type to use public transit a lot. LA is not a very good place for public transit, but she must have been a budget traveler. Sad, she is probably a recent college grad looking for a little adventure.

I would suspect that there is at least one member who knew her, but doubt if he/she will fess up.

Yeah, when I first heard that this young straight-laced CBC girl was travelling ALONE IN SO-CAL, the first thought that popped into my head was porn/escorting. Going to LA alone is just such a weird thing to do, especially as a young female. It's not the kind of place you go "backpacking" by yourself.
Even her family claim to have no idea why she went down there.

it almost seems like she is waiting for someone, and trying to be discreet? And with her hand movements looks like she is gesturing something to someone...I am guessing she was doing something shady.

She did press the buttons several different times so maybe she inadvertently jammed it open?
She looks genuinely frightened and as though she was hearing something down the hall or in another room???
Her gesturing is peculiar.

65 per night in LA can be a decent hotel. The poor girl never heard of hotwire or priceline. The hotel biz there is super competitive.

A serial killer probably was residing there and found her.
I say serial killer because look at the way her body was dumped. That person knew what he was doing. Doubtful it was in inside job (ie: one of the staff) because they would have found a better way to hide body so that it would not be found. It was someone who was not staff but figured out how to get the keys, and would move out hopefully long before the body was discovered.

I didn't see anything overly bizzare about her behavior. she got in the elevator and expected it to work and it didn't. I probably would have pressed all the buttons also to try and trigger an effect.
As far as the hand gesters, she may have been talking to someone on the corridor. I know a girl thats perfectly normal but make odd gesters at times, doesn't mean anything.
Beautiful girl, such a sad story.

I DONT THINK SHE WAS ON DRUGS.. she looks to be in some sort of a dellusional state from soemthings else... perhapps a bi polar manic episode..... some people have no sence in what they are doing while going through these types of episodes...... then there is also the case of bipolar/minore Schizophrenia which is extrememly hard to diagnose !!!!!!! and treat

That is some haunted hotel shit right there boy.

*note to self - when directing low budget horror movie, show as much cctv elevator footage as possible for maximum creepiness.

And not to take away from the tragedy of a young woman losing her life in most likely a terrifying way - but to think of all the hotel guests that were drinking her, um, essence (sorry, nicest way I could put it) is just plain nasty.
