Not acceptable!
If she has an appt. she needs to honor it.
How would you feel if you had an appointment with your dentist for 3 pm and when you got the the office, after taking time off work, driving 1/2 way across town and paying $6.00 to park, you were told "Sorry, Dr. Smith has gone to get lunch and won't be back for an hour but you can come back at 5:00 if you like?"
Smarten up!
Generally I agree with you and your points.
However firstly.
I had braces for 5 years and at least monthly appointments during that span. Having long wait times past the scheduled time was not uncommon, sometimes even up to an hour, and rare instances longer. So actually it does occur (mind you I was never told straight up "they need a break")
For this situation and this type of work.
It's an agency that does the booking, as was said, booking was taken, then the lady contacted. The lady is not a machine, there could be instances where the client is somewhat more physical (I'd like to say rougher but that has negative conotations I'm really not meaning) or more to handle shall we say. If she needs a break she needs a break. I have a physical job with set break times. However certain tasks really take a short term toll out on you and you need to have a breather for 15 - 20mins before you can jump back in.
If this was a high class independant that was being complained about because she didn't screw a guy for all 90mins of his 90min session this story would be completly flipped around and the men of this board would be all over the reviewer saying much the same things I've said (ladies aren't machines, sometimes so much physical is hard to handle).
Besides in this business I'd never want to take an appointment the provider was
forced to take and at a certain time. How could I trust quality of service? I've had bookings that probably shouldn't have been taken by the provider and I've had ones that probably should have been canceled - they were rotten. And really, knowing a provider is forced to take appointments when she says she needs an hour for a break kind of reeks of a sex slave trade (yes that's an exaggeration, but I dont know any other way to put it).
I dont think the business is one of a kind unique, but we aren't exactly going to the corner store to pick up a bottle of juice. It does suck for a client to be faced with this, no doubt. But can you blame a massage therapist for putting back your appointment because their hand is cramped up and really sore from a busy/hard day up to that point?
