Thanksgiving

F**k, how do you compete with that? U don't. No one has yet bespoken the virtues of brussel sprouts and pumpkin pie. Available to all, yet inspiring to a select few. Bring forth virtue and merriment of the mini cabage and the baked squash. Forget not that Thanksgiving is a celebration of the harvest, when we had not year 'round supermarkets, and had to bring in the goods and cellar them to tide us through the deadly winter. Rejoice in the harvest, for it brings life to us all.
Dinner is served!
Let's say thanks to the First Nations people who the British and Americans and others have obliterated, and upon whose beautiful land we have lived comfortable lives. Also let's say thanks to the fact they don't have a strong religion to unify them and embolden them into acts of terror, wanting revenge for centuries of repression and off their lands like the Muslims do. We have a lot to give thanks for.
Not all Muslims want revenge and want foreigners off their lands, but virtually all who live there agree that there has been a history of conquest, subordination, exploitation and repression by the West. They certainly don't think they are the aggressors. What's your point?

My point was your statement that all Muslims have a religion to unify them is rather simplistic. Ever heard of sectarian violence in Iraq, Syria, Egypt , Tunisia, etc. Have you ever heard of Sunni, Shiite, Alawi etc. One for all and all for one doesn't exactly come to mind
Yes I've heard of all those things of course. Like any ghetto, the inhabitants will start beating the crap out of each other.... you know why? Because it sucks to live in one. Religion is just another factor to add to the repression. It can be a unifying force or a divisive one, and in this case it is both.
I have to apologize to the OP and all those who posted positive things on this thread. It was a happy Thangsgivng thread and then I took the bait from JC. Mea culpa
