Well this is juicy to say the least.....given the last 2 lame ducks at the helm being that pussywimp Dion and that douchbag Ignatieff maybe the Liberal party might actually
get a decent leader who can steer the boat and chart a course.

The replacement leader of the NDP Thomas Mulcair sounded pretty derisive in his comments
about the situation and is most likely quite worried about losing his comfy home
at Stornaway....yet he still keeps up the bluster and rhetoric like he lead the NDP to opposition status when it was the departed Mr.Layton who did that with a very effective and
convincing ride to the ballot box where most Quebecers thought they were voting for Mr.Layton as their own MP.

IMHO I think the results to the next Federal Election will result with a majority government
for the PC's and the leftist vote will be split between the NDP and the Liberals with the
Liberals winning back opposition status due to the lack of seasoning of skilled politicians
in Quebec.

All told it means another mandate for Mr.Harper and that is not a bad thing for Canada.

I voted Liberal all of my life up until the sponsorship enquirey. And then I switched sides.

It might actually get me to watch Canadian news again. Things have been pretty blah lately. And watching Mitt-twit shoot himself in the foot on a daily basis has been entertaining.

Haven't supported the Liberals since the Jean Chrétien days, but now that Layton is gone, I would make the switch back to the red if Trudeau ran....

I like the guy. Met him once as he's my friends cousin. He's got the star quality that Canadians no doubt wouldn't mind showing off for once. He doesn't really have the experience, but that doesn't mean he couldn't pull it off. If he can mobilize even a fraction of the 40% that doesn't vote he's good as gold. Most of that demographic are in their 20's, half of them women... His team is all over it.

StormRider, it's really too bad that you let Adscam be the reason you ditched the Libs after so many years. The Cons were truly successful in blowing that thing way out of proportion in fine gutter politics fashion. The taxpayer got duped for less than 3 million, and the guys that did it went to jail and weren't even in the party; and really it was just about contracts that were awarded without a proper bidding process. But Steve spun it to the public to sound a hundred times worse. I don't know how many people I've heard say that the Liberals 'stole hundreds of millions' through Adscam. Simply not true. But that's the Cons for ya. "Doesn't have to be true, just plausible" - Tom Flanagan, Harper mentor.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sponsorship_scandal

There were lots of reasons to bail on the Liberals (the five hundred million dollar penalty, for one) but Adscam just isn't one of them. And Iggy the vampire, just too weird, albeit regarded as one of the most intelligent and highly educated men on the planet.

Anyway I thoroughly enjoyed watching JT knock the shit out of that douchebag senator... Better was watching that malevolent goblin Ezra fucking Levant cram his shoe down his own throat along with the rest of the rabid right wing who were oh so confident Trudeau was leaving the ring in a stretcher.

"I saw Trudeau training with a skipping rope haw haw" - Ezra Levant. Yeah Ez, only sissy boxers train with skipping ropes. Fucking idiot.

Trudeau is the last thing the progressives in Canada need. This will split the vote further, ensuring another 4 years under Harper.

I did pick Ignatieff over Trudeau anyday, he could have been first non-Anglo or French descent PM. Too bad he lacked political timing, philosopher king. Anyone that can oust Harper will get my vote, the Conservative party is mad slick though, runs expensive campaign for the immigrants, but a predominately Pro-British, Anglo policy, a complete disregard for Aboriginals, Immigrants and Francophone. Look at the minority hacks Harper appoints, Bev Oda and Alice Wong.
Bev Oda is a piece of shit.

Actually Adscam was the straw that broke this camel's back. All of the cronyism by the liberals numerous
years leading up to it disgusted me.The BS fiasco by Chretien going back on a campaign promise the get rid of the GST and saying afterward when he won the election that he would "like" to get rid of the GST
mad me want to puke...throw in the boondoggle over the Helicopters as well as the massive fuckup
of purchasing garbage used British submarines that were well past their service life was fucking retarded to say the least.

Then there was Stephane Dion and his main campaign plank which was his vaunted "green shift"....for fuck sakes all the "green shift" was was the modern day equivilent to the NEP of the 80's with a lot of window
dressing and polital spin about protecting the environment....and it would not have protected the enironment in any way as it was just a way of funneling money to Ottawa so the liberals could spend it like drunken sailors on shore leave.

As for Ignatieff all he was is an overpaid acedemic who only did one thing during his election run....and that was to pretty much ram his agenda down the throats of Canadians and pretty much tell THEM what THEY wanted....I sure as fuck hope he does not qualify for an MP's pension as he surely does not deserve it.(actually none of them deserve it libs/cons/ndp)

I do hope that Justin Trudeau wins the leadership race and he brings back the liberals out of the basement and does a good job to split the leftist vote and boot that dumb-ass mulcair out of Stornaway as he
is just another trumped up braid dead moron who is of the mindset that the NDP somehow got cheated
out of the right to govern this country.

I don't follow the Liberal Party so I really know nothing about Justin Trudeau except he is the son of ex-PM Pierre Trudeau who I personally think was one of the worst PM's we ever had.
My question is and I am curious, what has Justin Trudeau ever done or accomplished that makes him qualified to lead a political party or possibly become PM.
I'm not trying to be confrontational nor is this meant to spark a debate over the qualifications of Harper, Mulcair, or any of their predecessors.
I'm simply asking if he's applying for this job, what's on his resume.

I really don't understand the total fascination with Justin Trudeau. It's kind of like US Democrats always searching for another JFK.

I agree.
He was just here in Wpg and aside from all the hype there was very little substance to his visit. All one local, high profile Liberal had to say was how handsome he is.
Likely why I haven't received any answers to my post back on 09-28-2012.

Cheers

I have no fascination of him at all.I just look at the dynamics of him winning the liberal leadership race
and the impact from doing so in the next election. The results will be the liberals/NDP splitting
the leftist vote with the liberals becoming the opposition again and booting that idiot Mulcair out of
Stornaway.Harper will get another majority so it is win win for Canada in general but without the
NDP being the opposition and having the opinion that they somehow got cheated out of a majority
because they ran a good campaigne in Quebec and blew the doors off the Bloc.
