People who buy iPhones mostly do it for the cachet. They will update the peripheral stuff to the latest versions anyway, because that is the most important property of the product to them.

Somebody at work picked up an iPhone 5 this morning, only had to wait an hour. But still waiting for activation. I upgraded my 4S to iOS6 and I am liking it so far...

What do you think about Apple's new Map App? Google Map seems better since you don't need a 3rd party app to handle transit directions. Also heard some issues with it's accuracy.

The Apple map app, according to their latest spin, is a work in progress and the more people use it the better it will become. Here is a link to some of their maps blunder so far: http://theamazingios6maps.tumblr.com/ I have only used it in Vancouver and Richmond briefly but it seems pretty accurate. The 3D view sucks so far...

I do like the panoramic pictures setting, fairly easy to grasp. Siri now speaks many languages including Mandarin and Cantonese.

The things I did immediately after upgrading was to install the youtube and google maps apps.

The people in Saskatchewan would likely be more impressed if your friend spelt the provinces name correctly. Course if they're stupid enough to have a name like Saskatchewan they're lucky if anyone gets it right. I remember on a bugs bunny show they had a guy trying to get a password and one of them was "open Saskatchewan" lol

There's been no noticeable drop in performance since the upgrade. As usual, backup your phone before upgrading and YMMV...

If you thought the iPhone 5 was expensive even with a 3 year plan, how about this 1989 Radio Shack Mobile Phone for only $799 (buying power today $1,484 US) with a plan at Radio Shack's provider.

Yes when it come to the price of cell phones or should i call them smart phone or the new term super smart phones .. They are reasonably priced compared to what we first payed .. $1400 for a phone in a bag My cell bill was $89 a month back then in 89 .and my wage was 18 hr

To days prices are a lot cheaper and we get much more .. of course in is cheaper in the US

I dont see how paying $550 for new the new Iphone 5 that is only marginally better than the last Iphone
is cheap in any way.Especially when you get roped into a fresh 3 year contract that has all those add-on
fees such as system access/911 etc and nobody opts for a low data plan as then their precious Iphone
is pretty much useless.And in one year the easily lead sheep will be buying the next Iphone as Apple
will stick to it's strategy and release a marginally better phone year after year and all of these suckers
that just have to have it will keep buying them.
