I am thinking of buying a cheap wedding ring and going to work with it to stop the nosy ass co workers from tailgating my ass on marriage. Its mostly my own kind Chinese that are nosy as hell. Nosy runs in my culture as a hobby like dim sum is a hobby to be enjoyed over 3 hrs of gossip. You guys get that I am sick of Chinese culture right? Yeah probably will do this soon. Any ladies do this to stop creeps from hitting on you?

Living vicariously through myself
Pawn shops are usually a good cheap place to find lightly used wedding rings.
Shopping there is'nt high on the list of most future brides so there's usually a very large selection and they did'nt pay squat for them so prices are much more reasonable then what you see at glitzy jewelry stores.

Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
In your situation it likely won't work. Infact it will likely bring on even more scrutiney and questions about your new bride. Also I'm sure they're going to want to meet her. You'll end up like George Costanza on Seinfeld when he was showing people a photo of the model from a frame he bought and telling them was his deceased fiance. LOL!

Aside from that I know a few single ladies who wear fake rings when they go out, especailly with GF's and don't want guys hitting on them or atleast expecting to pick them up.
I also have a friend whose first wife died about 15 years ago. They were the perfect couple and loved each other immensely. He continued to wear his wedding ring for a few years after she died and he'd have women hitting on him all the time when he went out. Although his curse is, he's very good looking so maybe that has something to do with it.

Why not just tell them you suffer from ED? Seems much easier...

Don't live your life for others. Just be who you wanna be and do what you love to do without others dictating whether in your personal life, career, etc.

Reminds me of the movie Godfather III, when Michael Corleone was desperately trying to convince his son Anthony to finish his pursuit of a law degree. As part of Michael's attempt to somehow legitimize the notorious reputation of his New York crime family. But Anthony loves music and had his mind made up to become a professional singer.

Live Your Life ;)

He can hire an SP whenever he needs to show up with his 'wife'. It'll really mess with their minds if he brings different, but similar looking ladies each time, lol.

I was actually very tempted to do this a few years ago. I had an business occasion to go to at the Manitoba Club. For those who don't know it is a very uppity, posh private club whose members are the who's who of Winnipeg's rich and elite. Being single I thought it would be great to walk into this very swanky event with a drop dead gorgeous woman dressed in a very sexy (not slutty) dress. I would have love to see the looks on the faces of a few guys I new, who would be there. Unfortuantely I realized this plan was too dangerous and potentially embarrassing to pull off as A) someone might recognize her, since Winnipeg is a small city and B) someone might start asking her questions which reveal our plan.

When I was married my ex-wife and I were childless for the first 10 years of our marriage. We both wanted a child but things (building my business, her education and career) just kept making it a bad time so it kept getting put off. People, especailly all the friends who had kids were constantly on us.
Finally I stole a funny line from Norm on Cheers to answer their nagging.

"So, how come you guys don't have any kids yet?"
"I can't"
They would usually look a bit embarressed for asking and say, "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know."
To which I'd reply, "Oh, it's not that I'm not capable, its just that I see my wife naked and uh, I can't."

I don't see how this could work.

Won't your coworkers think its very strange if you just show up married.
Women will want to see pictures of your bride and whatnot.
All kinds of questions about the wedding.

Probably most will think its bullshit.
Now, they will wonder why you did this.
Most wont think its cause they have asked you about getting married, and it bothered you.
I think they will think its cause you are gay

When you observe Usain Bolt in the recent Olympics, he wasn't looking around the other runners and wondering how they were doing during the race. Usain was focused on one thing which was the finish line and breaking the record.

However, if it was the recent Lululemon Seawheeze Marathon I would probably spend time looking around. lol

Don't try to play up to other people.
Don't worry about what everyone else thinks.

Run your race and do what you love. :thumb:

I'm with BDS on this, forget what others think and march to your own beat.
but if wearing a fake wedding ring gets you some (I've known some girls are into that), then by all means do so.
hmm, wasn't that a Seinfeld episode as well?

Thanks for all the answers. To annoy and live free and clear is a good move. And also tempted to see if a ring can get me some.

Dude, lying is not the answer. You going to make up a whole marriage? That doesn't happen overnight, you need a buildup, a wedding, a couple of weeks honeymoon. And then you need a woman to attend company xmas party and other events. That's a big effort to get them to stop asking about getting married! Plus, if I was your boss and I found out you made up a fake marriage, I would fire you on the general principle that if you would lie about that, you will lie about anything. Grow a pair and tell them to STFU.
+1 well said

This is great, I'm doing this for my high school reunion this fall. My bff is coming as my 'date', we're dressing in ridiculous clothes and making up ridiculous life stories. This same man used to be my 'work boyfriend' when I worked for the BCLDB, so that when creepy guys would try and hit on me at work I could point to him and say I have a boyfriend.
The BCLDB is a shithole run by village idiots.

*LOL* too funny. +1

If you wear a fake wedding ring, all the single girls will hit on you because they'll think you're unavailable, which makes you more attractive to them for some weird reason. Then you can pretend to have an affair with one of them, divorce your (fake) wife, get married to her instead and live happily ever after.

(This could be the answer to tobleroney's situation too ...)

I was thinking the very same thing. It could be a really funny game actually.
or Honda could hire Miss Melody's BFF, or heck HunkaHunkaBurninLuv! now that would be a suprise....

I am sure they would stop talking about ladies....:pound:

PS. Are any of these co workers offering up thier own sisters/daughters/friends? Years ago I worked at a place where a group of 4-5 married women were really good for my sex life...., :clap2:

creeps hit on us with or without the ring.. :) and as for the nosy people I have a tendency to have a ( well they can mind their own biz and go f**k themselves attitude ) :) I dont think buying a ring will stop them, as they will have a number of questions still... as in I never saw you wear a ring before... or when did you get married... ect ect .... Its a tough call.
