Coverage starts on TSN at 2am our time. I will probably get up around 4am.

Are we going to keep the string of new major winners going or will we see a Harrington, Mickelson, McIlroy or Woods take it?

My crazy prediction is for an Englishman to break the Open drought that Murray couldn't do at Wimbledon.

I like Westwood or Donald this year. I have Molinari as a darkhorse.

Go anyone but Tiger go!!! I'm so sick of hearing about this guy. Yes he's probably the best player to ever play the game. But when they had the Golf Channel on after the second round they should have opened with how good Brandt Snedeker and Adam Scott have played so far. But of course it's all f***ing Tiger Woods.

When a golfer is on, he can make golf look really easy. Adam Scott is on right now as Snedeker was for the first 2 days. But we saw how Snedeker fell apart today although he recovered at the end to keep himself in contention. We'll see if Scott can keep it together on Sunday...especially if the weather becomes an issue.

I think 9 under par will win it tomorrow which is not out of reach for those giving chase. I think playing with a grinder who fights hard like McDowell does could mess with Scott who has a rep for not being tough mentally. I hope the weather really kicks up. I want to see these guys have to really work their way around the course in tougher conditions.

Reason being....the majority of people don't give a sh*t about either of those two or golfers in general. Everyone cares what Tiger did. With a win Tiger regains his #1 spot in the world....where he belongs!
You have a black girlfriend right? Are there any black girls in Vancouver by the way? I lived there for 6 years and didn't see a black girl.

Tiger's not going to win again. Too bad hunk.

Els 4 under on that back nine. That is some serious playing. It could have been lower too.

This should be Ernies win without a playoff. Scott should have been assessed a 2 stroke penalty for his ball moving. You take a few practice swings a couple of inches from the ball...of course you made it move even if it was several seconds after the swings. If he was still standing over the ball instead of walking back from the green, he probably would have gotten the penalty.

It looks like Ernie may still win in regulation and I would call it karma but I can't blame Scott for the decision from the officials. Scott told the truth about what happened. I feel bad for Scotts collapse. I would not have minded to see him win but I can't help but chuckle over Stevie Williams not being on the bag for another winner other than Tiger.

Congrats to Ernie!!!!!!!!

Wow...4 bogeys in a row to finish for Scott. That has to hurt.

It is hard to imagine how Tiger shot the best score out of the final 2 groups.

Els had a good round and deserved the win hell he was the only player who tried to drive the green
on that short par 4 every round....gutsy play deserves to be rewarded.

As for Tiger he played well but when he fucked up he fucked up big....erase that triple bogey that was the result of a bad decision and it would have been a playoff between Tiger and Els after Adam Scott melted down on the final 4 holes.I seriously cant fathom why he tried to make that bunker shot.....he should have delcared an unplayable lie and taken the penalty stroke as it would have worked out far better for him.

Congrats to Ernie but I feel bad for Adam. Both are class acts, can't wait for the PGA.
No kidding - you knew the easy conditions of Thu/Fri weren't going to last forever; I had a hunch somebody in the middle of the leaders' pack might get hot and win it, but nobody could have seen a +4 finish for Scott. Too bad.

We are lucky Ernie is sponsored by RBC or we would never see him come to Canada
That's an interesting point!

Woods definitely did not deserve to win.

I am not as critical of his conservative play as others because it kept him in contention up until the last 6 or 7 holes. But that triple was as much the result of constantly leaving himself 220+ yard approach shots into greens surrounded by bunkers as it was a poor decision to try to blast out of it ( 3 putting didn't help either). He had one approach earlier in his round that was 262yds on a par 4!!!. He managed to hit a great shot and leave himself a solid birdie putt but for much of the day he was just too far away to make birdies. And his wedge play from 120yds in sucked big time.

And then to top it off, his conservative play got him a couple of bogeys when he missed the fairway with an iron off the tee just as it seemed he was making a charge on the back 9. There have been tournaments where he felt comfortable with driver but this was obviously not one of them. He is not the golfer he once was in large part because of his lack of confidence with the driver. For goodness sakes he would not even hit 3 wood off the tee in this tournament.

Certainly a tactical error in strategy for sure - but I think it goes deeper than that. The analysts talked a lot about how he's playing his wedges, ie. everything 120 and in, and it's just not where it used to be. Even when he was hitting wedges for his 2nd shots, he wasn't playing them well.

Tiger used to just kill everybody because for him it was driver-wedge-driver-wedge-driver-wedge. And if need be, 3w-wedge, or 2i stinger-wedge. He's regained accuracy off the tee with his driver somewhat (though you wouldn't have known it here ), and his putting hasn't been horrible, but his repertoire of approach shots was put to the test, and didn't come through in the crunch.

A few swing-related things were pointed out throughout the tournament; it may be time for him and Foley to hit the drawing board again.

All I can say is Els showed a lot of class in his acceptance speech and that speaks volumes for the guy.....he has had it rough for a few years and he does have some harsh personal hardships to deal with....I gotta admit I would have liked to see Tiger post -7 along with Els and then seeing a wicked playoff after Scott choked....damn that would have been good....2 guys coming from behind go into a playoff after the leader gagged on a chicken wing over the final 4 holes.
