Restaurants in New York

Hey Perb!

I'm heading to New York soon, can anyone recommend an excellent restaurant? I'm willing to try anything also price isn't an issue.
So far on my list is Jean Georges. Thanks!

Il Mulino on West 3rd st. A great Italian restaurant. You need to make reservation in advance.

Eleven Madison Park. It is THE best restaurant in NYC and America right now. When you go to Jean Georges, make sure its JG, not JG nougatine. If you're not being seated on nice chairs with fine silverware and such, you're in JG Nougatine.

most of these places require reservations, but not the last three. I would recommend lunch at JG. They offer a prix fixe menu that's quite a steal

There are so many great restaurants in the Big Apple but these are musts for me whenever I visit NYC:

When it comes to steak, Peter Luger is a legend in New York. Doesn't have the ambiance of STK but their Porterhouse is the best in the planet. The short trip to Brooklyn is well-worth it especially now with the Nets playing there. Surprisingly, STK became a big hit in Las Vegas. Their resto at the Cosmopolitan is the place to be in Sin City.

For Japanese, the flagship of NOBU at Hudson Street is on a league of its own. The great Robert DeNiro made a good business decision in bringing NOBU to the Big Apple and it has spread worldwide ever since. The Black Cod with Miso is amazing. Kate Winslet best describes her dining experience at NOBU, " Food is like sex on a plate. "

When it comes to Italian, RAO's in Harlem still remains the toughest reservation in NYC. People who can't get reservations end up trying it during their visits to Caesars Palace LV. lol The meatballs and lemon chicken is SHEER heaven.

And of course, when it time for dessert nothing beats the Frozen Hot Chocolate at Serendipity 3. Remember that Kate Beckinsale movie before. :nod:

look online for Zaggat reviews, it's usually spot on as they have a reputation to uphold.
however, I prefer the quaintness of neighbourhood eateries, they tend to be away from the touristy areas (SoHO, TS, etc) and you can tell that most patrons are locals.
I recall the streets in Chelsea and Upper East Side dotted with these types of restaurants, they aren't very big in floor space but the meals were outstanding!

Forgot to mention that you do need to have FUN in the evening. Not Emperor Club fun but nightlife. Bungalow 8 in the Meatpacking District is where the supermodels are. Plus, the newest jewel in Chinatown, Le Baron NYC, is also where the city's most beautiful hangout. Le Baron redefined nightlife in Paris, Tokyo, and London and now its in NYC.

The agency that I recommend to set up dates with models not only in NY but worldwide is Le Chabanais.
