Question for those of you who keep your involvement in the sex industry (either as a client, or as a provider) a secret..

If someone close to you in your family, place of work, or social scene were to be outed for seeing escorts/being one and everyone reacted like it was no big deal, and life carried on as normal for them.. would you be more inclined to reveal your own secret?

For the married men, I would have to stretch the scenario a little to include your wife saying something like "I don't consider it cheating, actually I think *so and so* seeing escorts is part of why he and Marge always seemed to be so happy. Marge mentioned once that *so and so* and herself were like best friends since the kids were born. I imagine their best friendship wouldn't have worked out so well if he had been pressuring her for sex all of the time"
... which is probably nothing like any of you could imagine her saying, but, try please! I'd love to hear some of your thoughts on this.

Not trying to evade the topic but a so called friend of mine outed me a number of years ago as a hobbyist to some mutual friends. Burned our friendship and made me realize it was my hobby only and not to be shared with anyone.

That's actually a great question... I have told many a female friend what I do (when it comes to pooning) and have yet to tell a single of my male friends.
I know a lot of them cheat, but I have never discussed it with them - I guess it would depend which one of them it was....

Miss Turner, I have some people that know and some that do not know. Mostly I concern for my businesses. Some clients, suppliers, competitors, employees would have serious issues with my life style. Other are fastinated by it and participate. It is more accepted in Europe than here. So I pick and choose who to share it. Only those I know or who would understand.

No wife or family to concern myself with. Bigger issue for most is the SPs I have seen over the years. One SP in TO was caught and pulled out but recently got back in. It was a real mess with her. I was so worried about her. I thought she was going to take her own life. Her father has since passed away and her mother is very ill so she does not see the concern any more. I never saw fear like I did that day when she picked me up at the airport. I hope I never see that again.

As I get older it is becoming less of an issue. But I am a very private person anyways and I do not like others to know about me. Like I do not like my picture taken. I pride myself on not having photos of me around. None when I was younger and certainly not now. I recently took a SP with me on a cruise and the had the photo when you get on the ship I refused and both the SP and the lady taking the photo gave me a rough time. I just do not want my photo out there. I have too much too loose.

I agree. I would still keep it a secret. Even if your social circles/family is OK with it, it doesn't mean others would and the more people that know, the more it would just eventually reach out to others. That could lead to very serious complications later on. I am actually aware of several of my friends that poon and I still don't let them know I poon - there is really nothing for me to gain.

I do think it is pretty reprehensible when someone outs an sp, as they are the ones doing the work so the stigma is on them about how they are drug addicts or diseased or 'making a big mistake' with their lives etc. With a guy, there is a risk he will look sleazy or trying to take advantage of the disadvantaged. Neither scenario is good, but in the first case, the sp risks losing her friends, family and her way of making a living.

I think there are some terribly indiscreet people, sps and clients and friends/family members who know about others, and just blithely and without thought (or deliberately malicious) share info they know about one person with someone else. I think those are the dangerous people, the gossips and the nosy ones. The sps, for example, who contact someone to go and talk to him about an sp he saw recently. Or the sp who blurts out a personal detail about another sp while they are doing a duo. You never know what their motives for doing this are, but one thing for sure, they aren't good.
