WTF is wrong with today's society? Bullying from kids to a grandmother!

That is fucked up. These kids sound like they are elementary age. Their parents must be so proud to have raised such evil spawn.
This poor lady was verbally assaulted and is obviously uncomfortable and nervous with the language, let alone the threats to stab, rob and disembowel her. If the school board in this district doesn't do something in the way of discipline and education there is something seriously wrong.
Ironic the generation that puts such stock in "respect" shows so little themselves.

I was listening to this on the radio this evening and it really pissed me off!
They were saying that the driver didn't do anything to intercede and the first thing I thought of was that he probably would have lost his job if he did. It's at the point now that if you raise your voice to a child you are labelled as being abusive. Suddenly the one behaving inappropriately is the victim. I went to school when the strap was still an option and I know it was a deterrent for me to behave. I also recall a field trip to a park when the whole class rushed the bus to get the 'best seats' and we all nearly trampled this old lady. The bus driver and the two teachers ordered everyone off the bus and lined us all up next to it to apologize to her and then we spent the next 20 minutes or so getting on and off the bus in an "orderly fashion" so as not to forget it.
Obviously no where near traumatic to us, but today I think the teachers would have several parents complaining that it affected their kids self esteem.

Please highlight where she said they were the same. You can't, can you? Cause she never even implied that they were the same. You're the unusual one...Where I grew up, if something like that happened in grade school, we would have been lined up in the hallway outside the principal's office waiting our turn to get the strap across our rear ends! Then we would have got it again at home when our parents found out.

As for me, public caning was the third most serious punishment behind suspension and expulsion. It was a UK public school before caning was outlawed. So yes, really.
Wow , wasn't that long ago that caning was banished in the UK.It was banished by the time i went to school in the 70's around here(not to say that my dad didn't tan my ass when i got home from school.
When I was in grade school in the 80's, the (mean) principal had the strap. I never got hit with it. But apparently it hurt like hell. I'm sure they don't have it anymore because of the possibility of lawsuits. Too bad.

The sweet old gal isn't even going to press charges, but I hope those kids get some pretty harsh consequences. If they'd do that to a lady they know on the bus, they'd probably swarm a senior at a bus stop or in the mall parking lot too. How can people sit back and let other people be treated that way?? The bus driver must have been aware of what was going on.

She didn't highlight it, she quoted it. There is no implication as far as I am concerned, she was stating her experience with the preface: "Where I grew up". And you can get off that bridge now, troll.She highlighted that part and replied to it. Thus the implication.

Haven't read the thread but I think the death threats should provide those kids with some idea of how revolting their behaviour was and if there was a punishment that would scare someone to think twice about their actions, I would think multiple death threats would do it.

I don't think this lady is suited for her line of work. Not to be rude, but a 68 year old, super obese, half deaf woman, supervising teenage boys?
I imagine it started months prior, when the boys realized she wouldn't do anything if they acted rude, and it got worse and worse.
Back in my day, little shitheads like this would have had their ass kicked by stronger boys. Kids can't fight in school anymore, so the mouthy shits win.

How else do you expect them to behave. These children are a product of our fucked up society. Just take a look at peoples reactions to these childrens behavor people want to beat them with canes, tie them up with straps, beat them with whips and how fucked up is it that they and there familys get 1000 death threats to the point that they need police protection. Society is continuing to teach these children that threat of voilence and intimidation is acceptable in our society. They are just behaving what our society has taught them. Befor you judge these children just take a look peoples reactions. We as a society have failed to raise our children in a civilized manner.
