Probably won't apply for the ladies, as you tend to go under your professional names, but here we go anyhow!

What is the meaning behind your choice of Forum Name? I will start...

When I started pooning back in 2004, I stumbled onto PERB after seeing a link for the board listed on the website of the first SP I ever visited. I had recently re-watched the movie Night Shift, which stars Henry Winkler and Michael Keaton. If you're not familiar with the flick, it's about two City Morgue workers who decide to go into the Escort Business (as well-meaning "pimps"). Keaton's character was named Billy Blazejowski. It seemed apt enough for a "Pooning name". How about you??

(Actually, now that I think about it, ladies, what made you chose the name you chose? - I don't want everyone to feel left out!)

A long time ago when I began participating in this hobby I ran into a series of bad luck. I got stopped and followed by the cops one time. They stopped me and told me they know what I'm out here for but since they don't have any proof they'll just issue me a violation ticket for not coming to a complete stop on a stop sign. One other time, I got robbed by this SW. She was high and told me I didn't wanna mess with her. She pulled out a needle saying she has HIV and she would stab me with the needle if I didn't hand over more money. This other time I fell for a sting operation. Ended up having to attend John school. There was some other things but they were too far back to recall. And that's how I came up with my name poor man.

Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
I played football in HS and college. I have a very fast metabolism so always had trouble putting on weight and keeping it on. In, I think grade 8, I started eating huge breakfasts which often included one of my mom's big mixing bowls full of cereal. My sisters would call it my Jethro Bodine Bowl.
Plus, I could never decide on a career either as an Austronaut, Double-Naught Spy or a Fry Cook. ;)

Great hair wax.

But seriously, in English 110 Approaches To Literature, it was one of the novels we had to read. Fitzgerald came up with a pretty cool name as I've never met, known, or read it as a real surname.

^ LOL.. I'm also not head over heels for Daisy. I'd like to have that yellow roadster though and the mansion at West Egg isn't too shabby either :p

I've been a Methodist church member my whole life and in the last 5 years have been having some serious problems with the Faith, and have considered becoming a Satanist (yes, human sacrifices, etc :)
Anyways, I tend to take the Lord's name in vain quite often and so when I was confronted with the "choose your handle" bit on Perb, I rattled it off again as I am in the habit of doing.

Idiots of course see my handle and think that I have grandiose ideas about myself but forget that many people use it to inflect hyperboles. Nevertheless, for that reason it has been an entertaining handle - especially for the countless number of people here who take themselves and everything else on Perb a little too seriously. Aside from that, I find the usual handles reflecting the same old boring generic persons that exist in too great a number here. I mean, look at the list of foreign movies in another thread - most all of them are not interesting at all even though I am sure people find it (and themselves) unique. Never one to do what is prescribed to me, at least with some caution, I went ahead with this handle.

I was banned for awhile (for being too clever I might add) and was given a 30 day suspension. When I came back, it was Easter Sunday, ironically. So the handle has worked well.

I lived in a house with a bunch of students and had a room that was completely silent even during the noisiest of parties. People used to bribe me with food to trade rooms with them for the night. One day we got talking about various -mongers and how there was no consistency.

Fishmongers SELL fish
Whoremongers BUY whores
and Warmongers neither sell nor buy war

Someone called me a regular "Sleepmonger" and the term just kinda stuck.
Plus if you take the term Sleep as in “I’m going to “sleep” with her”, then the term Sleepmonger is most fitting for what I’m doing here.

I always liked and often adhere to the saying "Walk softly and carry a big stick". I tend to interpret it more along the line of "show some confidence but don't challenge people unnecessarily". So far it has served me well.

Hello, my name is Ray, and I when I stumbled across this site when looking for a specific SP a number of years ago, I didn't bother trying to come up with a creative name.

What a great topic btw, we're getting to know more about our perb members! lol. For me my name doesn't have any great meaning to it. I just like the way it sounds. There weren't any Violets in Vancouver, and I like the sound of Blake. I wanted something classy, something that sounded like a real name, but kind of like a movie star name lol.

A silly little pet peeve of mine is that I wish I had known you could have spaces in your username, cause Violet Blake looks so much nicer, but most websites you can't so I assumed this was the same lol. I'm an English nerd so I always try and have grammar, capitalization, etc, correct wherever possible lol. :p

I used to browse the erotic listings on craigslist just out of curiosity, and one girl mentioned that she was well reviewed on PERB. So curious me had to see what PERB was. I pretty much only registered so that I could see the contents of the Strip Club section - I used to spend just "a little bit" of time in strip clubs. At the time I still had some of the misconceptions about the industry that the general public has. Although I had had a couple of "encounters" with girls on Seymour street (what a WOT), I was reluctant to become a pooner. I still haven't dipped my toe in the pool, but at this point it's more about paying off my debt (which I'm almost done). I'm pretty sure I've decided who I will go see as a present to myself once that debt is eliminated!!

Great thread!
When I made the decision to start working, my entire life was in transition... Relationships, jobs, living situation... And I caught a commercial for some tv show at the time... "Life UneXpected" and the main characters name was Lux. I really liked the name and what it stood for really reflected how I was feeling about my life (In a positive light!).
I also realized a bit later on that Lux is a measure of luminescence... light... It might sound cheesy, but this work and you lovely clients really do bring "light" into my life and I assume vice versa... So, it's certainly fitting in a number of aspects :)

Haha yet another TV influence here... When I signed up Seinfeld re-run was on. It was the episode where Kramer showed up with his ass man license plate... plus I love asses (who doesn't?) and all the other female body parts :)
