Same in retail (not sure what you call a video store other than long gone). In the till would be a Stack of 20's, stack of 5's, and maybe 5 or 6 10's, but never more than a hundred dollars worth. Seeing as the store did about 800-1000 per shift I'd say the ratio is probably lower than 4 - 1. Really the 10 is probably something they could just do away with, I'd say it's convinience factor is relatively insignificant.
Did you somehow convince your employer to pay you a penny a day doubling?......if so you have a not so smart employer
That's a good point - you're just starting to see more ABM's stock 50's in addition to 20's, which I really like.

as long as we've still got hst/gst we'll have pennies. if it wasn't for taxes, merchants would damn soon price their stuff so absolutely no pennies, nickles or dimes would be necessary. the smallest coin would be a quarter. but these odd numbers, like 12% in bc, make it necessary to stock the smaller coins
Oh thats right...you live in BC (Bring Cash) where the Provincial Government rapes you with a sales tax.....and also the HST for a limited time......I am so glad I dont lose 7% of every $ I earn to a Provincial sales tax.
