Here's a cheap and good food item:
The food court in Parker Place Mall in Richmond; there's a Shanghai Food booth located to the right of a vegetarian outlet; a big *ss bowl of homemade wonton (10 large dumplings in soup broth) for only five bucks.

Peace.

Foundation has a really good giant plate of nachos for $12. It requires about 3 or 4 people to finish it

Yamato Sushi on Davie and Seymoor.... was there a few weeks ago , 5.99 lunch special sushi....very good combo....i couldn`t finish it all....but maybe that was because I had just finished eating Alex Adare....an ever better special in the neighbourhood....considerably more expensive...but worth every penny. I supplied the Mayo...Alex loved it!

The cafeteria in the downtown campus of Vancouver Community College. They provide culinary training, and the cafeteria serves the food prepared by the students.

It's usually pretty good, and very affordable.

All-u-can eat Mongilian grill BBQ 14th and Main 11.95. The best option for those of us who are health conscious but have enormous appetites.

Steak sandwich for $3.50, nice fresh bun with a real steak inside, lettuce, tomato, etc. Always delicious, and an unbelievable deal.

This is at Duffin's Donuts on Knight and 41st. Never mind the name, they also sell lots of other cooked food and chinese food too. It's run by a Cambodian family. By the way, their donuts are better than Timmy's.

All I can say is KFC aka:dirty bird is absolute garbage....it is so greasy it is inedible IMO....if you are ever in Calgary make it your mission to visit Chicken On The Way if you want the best fried chicken ever made...their fries are fresh cut daily and not some frozen crap...the corn fritters are awesome...no they dont offer a $2.99 special but the 3 piece meal for $6.99 is a total bargain compared to KFC's normal prices.

Little Ceaser's Pizza, medium size pepporoni only $5.59.
OK little ceasars pizza is not pizza....it is an insult to pizza...the medium pizza you speak of is total crap....lousy sauce and next to nothing for cheese and they get away with calling it a pepperoni pizza because it actually does have pepperoni...a whole 2 tiny little bits per slice....last time I helped someone move the douchebag cheaped out and got little ceasars....I spent 6 hours of my time and my own fuel helping the guy move and he pulls this stunt...if he ever asks me for a favour again I will tell him to piss up a rope.

If you are going to get pizza you get what you pay for in the grand scheme of things.....my best counter to the cheap garbage of little ceasars are the take & bake pizza's from Costco...2 for $10 and you can pick any 2 that they have....lots of toppings/cheese and they are far bigger.....pretty good option when hosting a hockey/football game or even a poker game.

3.99 brown rice cali rolls at Fujiya (tea included), $5 bowls of malaysian street food at Hawker's, T&T (half price at closing time) & for value+quality, the $7 organically delicious falafel at Nuba.

Yum, may have to freeze the rest of today's lunch special at chez veronica: curried kale, split pea & brown basmati dal topped with goat yogurt & fresh coconut (cost, about a buck a bowl) & go out for lunch tomorrow!

Pretty good prices and food was good too...when i was taking classes there.

Their donuts are the best and made fresh; unlike timmy ho's which are frozen. They make good sandwiches but, for heaven sake don't even try their quick&easy chinese food; it's like play russian roulette.

Downtown Costco has good deals on pizza, montreal smoked beef sandwich, and how can you beat a quarter pound hotdog&pop for $1.50

Fujiya has nice variety of japanese quick and easy grab stuff including sushi, rice bowls, bento boxes...; on a rare occasion if they make too much sushi, they fire sale it at 50% off. Definitely T&T supermarket half off closing time sell-off of the majority of the prepared and cooked stuff.

HoHos quick Asian downtown on Davie between Bute and Jervis.... Huge portions... $10 worth of food lasts me like 3 days... And it's good if you like Americanized Chinese.... My favorite is there wonton soup.... So good.... $5.25, 10 wontons, BBQ pork, broccoli.... It's so big I have to share with my dog lol but it's definitely a go-to favorite ... I have it about twice a week...
