I know this is going to be pure blasphemy for Winnipeg but I ordered the 10oz. New York steak at Rae & Jerry's a couple of weeks back and was soooo disappointed. The steaks I do in my back yard on the BBQ destroy that one for a fraction of the price. There are incredible steak places in Winnipeg but I don't think Rae & Jerry's is my reference point when I want a hunk of red meat. That said the decor and atmosphere are fantastic.

I will now go into hiding as the knives and arrows begin to fly....

Nope no knives here, I hope you said something. They'd want to know. Some times a great looking piece of meat eats like crap and other times a bright red right (little age) piece right out the counter at Safeway eats like butter....No matter how well it's aged, marbled, cut and handled this can and will happen. I spent many years in the rest supply game and know they'd want to know......much like a good SP repeats matter.

All that being said, the product available to us in some of the independent butcher shops around town is equivalent to what restaurants are buying and better than ever before. The home/rest gap has narrowed significantly and will continue to do so.

On the steaks... I find Rae & Jerry's a fine place for atmosphere and a Prime Rib. The steaks there (for me) have lacked that something that makes me want to pay $30+ a plate. 529 Wellington has my vote for the well-marbled, guaranteed steak... flavourful, expensive as sh*&, but worth it when you want to spend the $$$. The Keg St James and the Round Table has always filled in as a lower-cost alternative. Hy's pissed me off to no end after their move to Portage and Main, and their product dropped off as well (to my palate), otherwise they'd be mentioned. Damn I miss the scotch I used to have after work at their old location...

As for Keissy. Go see this wonderful import. I recall from my session her receiving DATY with flourish (& completion, we'll say), and orally pleasing my own tastes as well. She looks spectacular going down on you, better on top and knows how to get you smiling. She would be in the 529 category. I'm sure a few thousand feminists would stick a steak knife in my eye for the comparison here, but Keissy is worth every penny and every minute you spend with her (at least for me, YMMV). And yes, the pictures don't lie -> crazy hot body. Please enjoy responsibly.
