You can still find them here and there, bought some at Christmas to put in with my nieces present.

Anyone else starting to get really strong cravings for candy? The memories of satisfying the sugar craving are driving me nuts and I haven't eaten candy for decades!

(except for chocolate and Werthers originals)

I just opened up some leftover Halloween candy. I'm sure it's still good or at least I hope it is.

I avoid places like Sugar Mountain (here in Winnipeg) cause they have all that stuff - and more.
And being someone with little to no self-control, it would be a bad thing....

Oh, and the neapolitan taffy is called KooKoo, btw.. I *knew* it would come to me!!!

I still find some of the stuff is still around from 55 yrs ago ..

But it was all ways about how much candy i could get for 10 cents , later it I was given 25 cents ...

Alllways bought jaw breakers , and liquorish cigars , or pipes .. bananas . and jugews ... and some red liquorish rope .. Most of that stuff is still available .

That sponge taffy we called Sea foam. and yah I would get Macintosh taffy .. The big thing for me was If I could afford a 25 cent box of smarties .. the box was 3" by 3" and 3/4" wide...

I don't know WHAT they have done to Smarties the last 10 or so years, but the candy shell is disgusting...

Remember the early days of smoking seedy, stalk weed, man I remember Thai stick, and eating Ding Dongs then graduating to acid and those 7-11 bbq roast beef sandwiches washed down with warm Extra Old Style beer. Oh those were the days. I miss acid.......and the all night drive-ins at the Lougheed or Cascade.

this post brought back memories. does anybody remember the little wax tubes filled with a sugary liquid, you bite the end off and drink it. cant remember what they were called. also snack bars, love those. check out the candy aisle, they have some of the stuff mentioned on here.

They are alive and well in Canada and I just picked up a box at Canadian Superstore for a trip back to my childhood. Holy smokes are they ever sweet.

The Twinkie is an American snack cake that is owned by Hostess Brands and marketed as a "Golden Sponge Cake with Creamy Filling". Twinkie production in the United States ceased in November 2012, but it is still being produced in Canada by Saputo Incorporated's Vachon Inc. (at a bakery in Montreal) which owns the Canadian rights for the product.

I sure miss the days of being able to go to the corner store with a buck (paper dollar, of course) and come back with a huge bag of candy...

Never forget the time my friend dumped 2 packages of Pop Rocks into a Slush Puppy.... frigging exploded EVERYWHERE!!!

Cherry Coke was the SHIZNA...man that was so good yet it was discontinued :doh:...it is still sold
in the UK though.

I also miss Glossette Cherries...lil mini chocolate coated turkish delight nuggets...those were like crack.

I lament the demise of Wigwag bars/Tahiti treat/cuban lunch/sour sticks and a lot of other tooth rotting
treats as well.

For those living in the Lower Mainland the light at the end of the tunnel is the big BP gas station
across the border at Sumas.It has a plethora of really good junk food including hostess fruit pies.
It also has cheap gas/smokes/cheese/milk.
