For my tastes, top row is too skinny, and most of bottom row is too curvy. I would love something inbetween. Like this:

Honestly those two sets of pics , are like comparing apples to peaches .. They are wearing different close , they are different ages and the one lot are posed shots the others are candid pics ..
Sexy women come in all shapes and sizes. and it does not matter if some of the old stars looked sexy a lttle more curvy or the new stars and models look sexy slimmer .. I like slime and small breast but it still come down to attitude and self esteem ..Many of the women today .. are far more sexy , in that they are open minded , speak their mind .. and are not controlled by the star making machine .. Not they they are with out their problem as many are .. just like all those stars of yesterday ...

Besides...most men don't think that top row is sexy. There is a disconnect between male preference (in general) and what women think men like.

Exactly. The only thing I would add is that before the Internet and digital photography, there was a lot more control over the images that people saw. I doubt there are any pictures of Elizabeth Taylor running on the beach right after she had a baby. Time and mortality is also forgiving of people's worst looks and faults. If Keira Knightley were to pass away suddenly, we would be looking at her pretty pictures, not her anorexic ones.
And people who think stars of the 50s never obsessed about their looks don't know about Marilyn Monroe. She had numerous plastic surgeries.
