It looks like I'll be travelling to LA in the near future. I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations on a nice hotel which isn't crazy expensive and has elevators without key cards? Thanks in advance!
Downtown LA hotel recommendation?

When I stay downtown I stay at the Standard but they have card keys. Do you have to stay downtown? When are you there? I have to be there on the 31st to the 2nd for meetings. I usually stay near the water or in Orange County. but big rooms and tubs like private pools. The lobby action is wild.
Based on the above, a prudent recommendation would be the Marriot in Downtown LA. A nice hotel that is reasonably priced without elevator key cards and well-located as well. Would be good for your naughty guests even if the rooms needs some updating as most downtown hotels like the Sheraton also. However, please don't confuse with the newer JW Marriot property at LA Live along West Olympic Blvd. as this one has elevator cards. In comparison to Downtown Van, the JW Marriot would be like the Fairmont Pacific Rim while the Marriot would be like the Hyatt. But both are pretty good for fun times. :nod:
The naughtiest upscale property in LA hands down would be the sister hotel of the Standard under the Andre Balazs Group which is the Chateau Marmont. Highly secluded and has a very rich history of naughty and misbehaving. Some people can't even wait till they get out of the elevator like Benicio and Scarlett Jo.
