According to the Mayan calendar, this is the last year for mankind on Earth. Any thoughts on this?

I read an article on the internet within the last couple of months that stated there were Myan calendars that went beyond 2012. Of course the one that ends in 2012 interests everyone because of the speculation that comes along with it. I'm not going to lose too much sleep over it.....

Nastradamus painted a better picture too. Although he predicted mayhem in 2012, he also suggested that mankind has choices to make in this year, and those choices will affect the outcome of the future.

as i understand it, the last time the mayan calendar was used on a day to day basis was about 1000 ad. that was the last trace of the pyramid builders - after that they became too fragmented into small tribes to support any such extravagences like... well... pyramid building for example. so to all intents and purposes the world came to and end at that time - about 1000 years before the calendar theoretically ran out. ever since then only western academics even gave a shit about the calendar - what is left of the mayans sell replicas of the calendar to tourists, but would be hard pressed to tell you the slightest thing about them

...and this is what everybody is getting excited about? bah, humbug...

I guess it depends on how you want to interpret it, I remember when I was younger( a lot younger!) and everybody was reading Chariots of the Gods, the calender was supposed to predict the return of the gods (aliens) to earth. Although I see Mr Von Daniken is still around preaching his stupidity I haven't heard much about that particular theory for a while! I'm still making plans for Christmas 2012!

Well, be sure that we are all gonna die....one day and not all at the same time. 2012, who knows what this year is going to bring. Could be a fabulous year, Canucks win the Cup...mecyshooter posts a thread that makes sense....sure, anything could happen. The Mayan calander, predictions of the end....might happen. Celestial allignments can have some sort of gravitational effect on us, tides wise....hell, who knows.

Alien forms of life may come and conquer us, as maybe the celestial alignment opens a wormhole, and the armada comes through.....or maybe silky makes a return. Or...maybe North Korea is really nice this time of year.

Europe will finally get the bailout they need, but it will be just delay things...
China real estate will burst ...then the gov't will step in with a sort of bailout to simulate the economy again...
USA will chug along...and they will say the Unemployment picture is improving...when really it's mostly shit paying jobs and millions of Americans aren't even counted as being unemployed anymore, since they have given up...

Here and There
Not sure about the end of days but 2012 hasn't started out well for me. Air Canada lost my luggage and I've had a nasty reaction to some medication. But I can still climb the 115 ft of stairs to work and my dick still works, so if that's as bad as it gets; I'm laughing.

I love it Dgodus!!!! YOU got that right.

Air Canada is getting so bad. I spend most of my time now on SAS or Lufthansa. In the US it is Delta and United. I have even started flying Westjet in Canada. I like the flight attendance better. Air Canada is a bunch of old battle axes. What happened to the good looking ones. Even the international flight they have these old tired worn out attendance. I use to love fantasizing about the stewartess. Then when I got into Vancouver I would call up a few ladies to dress up and meet me. I remember Very Veronica got a few old CP uniforms for her and Victoria and we meet at the old Pacific Palisades hotel. Very Veronica and Sandi Laine as well. Those were the days you could sit in the airport and see these hot ladies in uniform. I remember one in Montreal. She was so hot every time she crossed her legs I thought I was going to cum in my pants.

Oh how I miss those days.

the mayans also believed that their society lived on the back of a giant crocodile, so I wouldn't worry too much about their predictions :pound:

***edit***

on second thought, maybe that's what the mayans called the milky way - 'the big croc', and they weren't so far off after all... lol

Still lost in the '60s
The Maya shaman I spoke with told me to chill. When one calendar ends another begins. I'd like to believe the new era will be a better one.

Sorry for bumping up an old thread (especially one where Dickson is talking about big COCK. I know, eh? I'm just as shocked as you are!), but this made me laugh!
