What I've never understood about Canada and I guess part and parcel the United States is that we continually make issues like this over the verbal minority. These people come from oppressed countries where women's rights are non existent, and if Canada supports the silent majority as it should, then it becomes some racial/political travesty such as this.

I don't understand people who move here thinking we should bend "our" laws to support "their" ways. Who is moving to whose country here?

Like others have said, blend in like coffee and cream, or get the fuck out. I wonder how much money is wasted on trivial shit like this just to get some attention.

The Charter of Rights and Freedoms is part of the Constitution Act, and supercedes any previous constitutions.

There is no exact result required. A majority is required; the number of votes depends on the number of members present when a vote is held.

What is the point of your inane questions? You are obviously a troll or an idiot. It isn't name-calling if one of the options applies. I have tried to treat you as someone who can't express themselves well, but that is inadequate.
I still believe a troll. He is more clever than silky, he doesn't swear, or start and nonstop bump several threads.
99% of his posts, are something or other negative about Canada, usually compared to the utopia of mainland china.
The other are reviews, that have as little information possible.

That's what multiculturalism actually means! Out of all the perspectives and moral reasonings, the best one survives. It's always the reality to live on earth! Which part didn't you understand, eh? ;) And if Canada wants to kick other cultures out, you are creating another war!

To my review, i only give brief and precise reviews. As to my posts, you ask any journalists and they will tell you that those negative comments are news-worthy! Learn how to improve and evolve from the negativity! This is why Canada is still not prosperous!
As to the troll thing, if commenting on facts is considered as troll, then the Mods will be trolls, the SP's will be trolls, and in fact, all of us are and this site and other similar sites should have been shut down! Now, I've gone far enough!

My point for question number 3 is the most important one. In the worst case scenario, practically and logically speaking, 50% + 1 is the weakest. This means that every single passed laws/rules/rights means nothing because it can't convince people that it is a necessity. Since we all know that the best case scenario is a "normal scenario", we can even ignore the best case whenever we discuss the issue. As a result, the problem is still not solved. And another problem is now derived. The purpose of having a government is to solve issues, not create problems/issues. Therefore, "the government" is stupid! We need problem solvers, not problem creators!

What war are we creating here? People using common sense to tell a thousand people they have to unveil their face to become a Canadian citizen? Or should the other 34,999,000 Canadians that live here change their views so the other 1,000 can disobey our laws? Get with the fuckin' program.

The two official languages of this country are English and French. This isn't some conspiracy. This is a fact. Accept it. These are the languages with which our laws are based. These are the languages with which we do business. I don't understand every immigrants fascination with moving here, and trying to change the very foundations this country, you people so happily wanted to move to, were based on. Why do immigrants have such a difficult time grasping this concept.

Canada isn't some playground you folks can come to and exploit.

Muslim women have to take off their head scarves, etc., during their own ceremonies anyways. So it was a calculated public move by the politicians that would not have offended them and a show for the Canadian public. Basically this was effectively nothing but a symbolic gesture.

All I say is we show you all the bad and help you change. However, you guys keep ignoring them.
And your so-called concept is pretty much nonsense because few years later, most of them gone back to where they came from.
And your so-called foundations has no intelligence in it.
That's why I said 50% + 1 is a b**s**t concept since nothing comes out strong! Meaning that people don't have to follow. There are criminal cases can't be sucessfully prosecuted!

But the irony is that Canada always respects other people's religious beliefs. :) So my prediction is that banning face coverings is unconstitutional!

You are so naive and ignorant. You think you're educated in the ways of our country, of our parlimentary system. The purpose of our type of gov't is to govern, it's up to the people to solve problems. It's not a one party dictatorship like you are used to back home where everyman is in bondage to the local supervisor. A democratic system like the one we have in Canada it's majority rules, 50+1. That's the rules, that's the way it is, based on precepts set out by those who put this country together.

You are trolling...by the way you are answering, slagging the country that you are currently living in and cursing the freedoms that you currently enjoy. Good thing you aren't back at home or they'd be knocking at your door to take you to a nice dank room somewhere, for crimes against the People and the Party....

One thing I have learnt in the university in Canada is that you have to do your own research. The prof will only feed you the general idea, then you'll have to find out yourselves.
Since this is an educational class, I'll give you some guidelines/questions to think about.
1. When the Charter of Rights was built, what was the population?
2. When the Charter of Rights was built, how many cultures were existed in Canada?
3. As time goes by, what is the least proportion of the government in order to pass a law? For example, currently there are 309 seats in the Members of Parliament. So, how many seats do we need at least in order to get the proposed law to pass? What's the least percentage?
There you go. Do your own research! Enjoy! :)
You answered my question with a question. Fail. You didn't address what I asked, ignored what could have given you some credibility, but you shit the bed. Ever write speeches for Mp's and MLA's?

I should have said when was the constitution act of canada created?

Now to question number 3. What is 50% + 1? We want an exact result!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This is a troll like posting.

1982.

50+1 means 50% of the vote plus one which makes for the majority of the vote. How hard is that to understand?

This is because when they made it, they never thought about the whole country. They only think about one single individual! This means that there's no room to improve as the population grows and people's perspectives have changed. In other words, evolution doesn't exist within the Act!
How so? Can you qualify this? What do you mean by there's no room for "evolution" in the Charter?

And, what do you mean, specifically about "they only think about one single idividual"? What led you to believe this and what have you based this conclusion on? Please be specific....

That is an absurd statement, immigrants don't come and exploit this country. The country exploit us, rob our wealth. We only ask for some freedom in return based in the charter of rights. We pay our taxes, and expect to have a say in the legislature through our representative. This is the 21st century now, you can't tell us to Go back to Asia anymore. We will tell you to go back to England, Ireland and Scotland soon enough.
Holy S**t! What a SHARP reply! Yo, not just freedom, but also our safety and properties! :)

My 50% + 1 response is a strong evidence! Other people get it, but you don't. Interesting. A country has to be strong, not weak! You want prosperity, then follow the trend!

China and Canada are not even in the same category, man! China is higher, Canada is lower. China never denies the bad, but Canada does! And trust me, you don't wanna break China. Otherwise, you will be seeing a war!
