You guys and gals should be congratulating me...for being honest and sharing my life experiences on this board!! Instead, you trash me and treat me like toilet paper that is barely worth using!!!! You know...the brand that burns your ass when you use it!!!:pound:
While reading this thread, I was just thinking that, how you could be counted on for being direct and talking about your experiences and pretty much without fear of what the feedback might be like.

Ok maybe you like the drama but I do like the resulting 'discussions' :)

You probably shouldn't have said ok at first but while getting news that's off putting for you, it's easy to just say something that gets you out quickly and easily and then digest in full after. Oh well, like you said, you're not interested in being just friends.

Just to make you "sheeple" happy, I sent her a text and told her about my concerns. All I got back was an OK...

Maybe I waited too long and she is just dissing me or expecting me to do more...???

I am moving on...

............just be glad she wasn't somebody that decided to share the gift that gives on giving, just out of spite............:pound:

I simply don't want herpes...if I can avoid it!!! Secondly, I really don't hang out with women, unless sex is involved or a desired end "goal!":clap2::pound:
Dude, you're missing out on half the world's population! I guess you didn't get the memo, but women have a lot of other awesome things to offer the world other than sex ( wait, let me guess, somebody's gonna say "cleaning?" "cooking?" Oh, the originality! :p )

Cooking? I was going to say hugs, cuddles and herpes-free french kissies?

Q: how do tell who the modern women are?
A: the ones who think 'clea-ning', coo-king' and 'fu-cking' are three cities in china! :pound:

sorry, couldn't help it - you left me SUCH a good lead in... :)

I too will agree with everyone else, this woman clearly wants no drama so she layed it all out there. Thats so damm hard to find, everyone tries to hide the baggage ( its all comes out sooner or later anyway).

No but you are an asshole for not having the guts to tell her the truth...
Nor did he have the guts to tell her that he is a frequent visitor of escorts. I suspect that she might have had an issue with that, as much or more than what he had with her. Being up front about prior sex life is expected of her, but not of him, which is somewhat hypocritical.

Hang on, herps 1 or 2 and upstairs or downstairs?

Because I think something like 80% of the population has herps 1 so you probably already have it, most pick it up as kids and not everyone has visible outbreaks. Ask the health nurse to get on the job.

Either way good on her for being honest...maybe you should focus on that part of her too?
I've read that the 80% figure for oral herpes is pretty accurate. Apparently STD clinics do not test for HSV1 (unless specifically requested) because it is so common that most adults would be positive....most often caught as children when a grandma/aunt/adult with a cold sore lesion kisses a child. If you've ever had a cold sore...you have it...if not...you still are likely to have it, you just haven't had an outbreak.

The plus side is, a person that harbours HSV1 (dormant) has more resistance to infection by HSV2 (genital herpes) as their system has already experienced and reacted to a similar virus (HSV1 and HSV2 are quite similar in structure and mechanism)....and the vice versa is also true. It's apparently hard to be infected by both.

The other thing is that HSV1 (oral herpes) when spread to the genitals....does not do that much as it has evolved for the conditions of the human mouth...and HSV2 (genital herpes) does not do that much (not very severe outbreak) when spread to the mouth (as it has evolved to attack the genitals).

Did she say she had oral or genital herpes? If it was oral....you might as well kiss goodbye to 80% of the female population....although odds are you already have it.

This should be obvious but don't point her out to your buddies if you happen to see her in public. A gentleman would keep this between you and her, and absolutely no one else.

Be kind... Respect the fact she told you. It means a lot. Also it's damn near statistically impossible that you haven't been with with someone who either knowingly or unknowingly has it.

You don't have to risk being with her but it would be good to take her out, talk to her and let her know that you appreciate her being honest. She may be worth the risk in the end. Most people with herpes get little or no symptoms.

She sounds like a good girl.

Had the nerve to ask out this cute 20 something woman...after feeling some chemistry at her workplace. We had a great 1st date and ended up making out for 20 minutes before I had to head out, due to shift at work.

Anyhow, we talked everyday all week then on our second date, we were sitting at a bar, candle light, she lives just 3 blocks away, and I could sense I was going to bang her...then she said, "I have to be honest with you...if this relationship is to continue, I have to let you know I have herpes..."

My jaw dropped to say the least and I told her I am okay with it. I obviously didn't bother going back to her place that night and I stopped calling her...
