I don't think these allusions to violence are helpful in a country like Canada, or in the US or most other Western nations, where we already have democratic government and an independent judiciary.

The last time I saw that "water the tree" aphorism it was really a call for someone to murder a politician the person didn't like. That politician had passed some health care legislation that the yahoo libertarian crowd regarded as socialistic, so it was time that leader was murdered in their opinion.

how the hell pepper spraying occupiers in california equates to anything happening in canada where similar occupiers are getting front page coverage while being protected by the police and while their handlers get to duke it out in court is beyond me
