Maybe im in the minority but never owned any products from apple. Just always found them pricey and overrated. Always thought steve jobs was a good salesman and made the products sound better than they actually are.

My list of "Apple" products is pretty short.
The family had an Apple ][+ back in the late 70s.
I have an iPod.
That's about it.

But I still appreciate how much Apple & Steve Jobs influenced the world of consumer electronics.

Computers were fussy and cryptic and hard to understand until Apple introduced the Macintosh.

MP3s were the stuff of music pirates and tech geeks, until Apple introduced the iPod & iTunes, and made digital music legit.

The iPhone redefined what smart phones could be.

The iPad is changing the world of comsumer computers.

Jobs wanted to "change the world". Whether or not he did, I dunno. But he certainly changed our electronic lives. He made technology cool and accessible to mainstream society.

And as a technology worker, I thank him for that.

I find Apple products overpriced, but there is no doubt Steve Jobs is a visionary. I think history will look back on him and Bill Gates as the two greats of the industry.

As for Apple stock, I predict no change tomorrow.

Agree, it's not like he was a young, healthy vibrant CEO who died suddenly from a car crash. His death should not surprise the market as he already stepped down and handed over control.

RIP Steve Jobs

He and Steve Wozniak started in his parents garage to create a multibillion dollar empire.

56 is oh so young to die of pancreatic cancer.

Steve Jobs understood that great design made things easier to use. He made technology accessible to everyone.

People who knew Jobs said money was never his motivation.

The stock will be down cause the new iphone sucks.

.
Gee the new phone will have a duo processor that runs twice as fast with new operating system with over 200 innovative improvements, an enhanced 8mp cameras offering 1080 HD video and a game changing voice activated command system. And that's not enough?

Do you want it to make you coffee too?

Our expectations in rapid technology change are maybe a little over the top?

I thought there are other smartphones which runs that speed before the iphone 4S. Also the voice activated command stuff isnt new. I dont think it's the best smartphone on the market and has a hefty price tag.

Ok let's get back on topic. Regardless of what you think of Apple and their products you can't deny that Steve was one of those rare people that changed the world. Even if he was a nobody it's still sad for anyone to die that young.

If you want to see a great movie check out Pirates of Silicon Valley.

I wonder if the voice command work with my accent :)

I love my 2ipad, hardly use my laptop anymore. I got the pen with it I just looooooove it.
I never have any luck with voice command (other than Dragon Dictate)...so it will either work great or not at all (ie...like my Windows Phone voice search commands)...then again, I do mumble..

Most of the technology that Apple has incorporated into their products existed prior to their product launches. One of his quotes was " Good artists copy, great artists steal "

No doubt there are phones that are faster. I would still pay double for an Apple over competing products.
