I hit 40 a few months ago, and I'm firmly entrenched in middle age now. My waist has increased from 30 inches 20 years ago to 32 inches. My neck size has also increased a half an inch, and I'm in constant pain from old injuries.

I've cut out eating at places like McDonald's and Domino's, and I can't read anything that is only a foot away from my face.

I exercise regularly, but the pounds just don't want to come off anymore and I definately move slower than 20 years ago.

At 50 I started on my mid life crises .. and actually started to enjoy life more .. still a little to conservative but i try .

I do feel like ai am old some days but i put that spring in my step and suck it up when i am with a 20 some thing escort or even a 40 and 50 year old that don't look their age ... Because that is what it is all about ..

ThAT SAID getting at=rthritis in my neck and degenerating dicks is telling me that Yah take every minute you can and enjoy them because i am running short.

Happy belated Birthday poorboyv6. Embrace it, live with no regrets and create more memorable experiences.

Peace.

poorboy, has your sex drive diminished a bit? Sadly I'm not as horny as I once was. Which actually is not a bad thing sometimes.

Be happy you are single making a 100k a year. Who wants to be divorced making only half that?

Still lost in the '60s
Learn to chant the middle-age mantra:
I ain't as good as I once was
But I'm as good once as I ever was

My sex drive has diminished a bit. Stress and fatigue really cuts my drive, but when I see a gorgeous escort, I'm has hard as a teenager.

40 didn't hit me as hard as 30. At 30, all my friends were married, or getting married, having kids and moving into their first house. Since then, I've moved from the Toronto area to out here to start a new life. It hasn't worked out as well as I would have liked, as I am still single, but I'm always looking.

Your mantra should be " I am wise, capable, and I can do anything. " Go and do all the wild things you ever dreamed of doing. Do all the things you've been scared of doing. Visit the places you've always wanted to see. Go for it!!! :thumb:

And for the young ones, don't wait for middle age to do want you want to do. If you wanna open your own business then do it now. If you delay its like postponing great sex for old age. :) :)

Did you move out here with no job and just started fresh?

Mid-life is a state of mind. While the body may creak a little more and the morning stretch starts to feel like a full work out, keeping your mind youthful is where it's at. If you tell yourself you are young at heart, old age will not enter into any activity you invlovle yourself in.

At 54 I entered my first Body Building competition, still play hockey at 58 (I play and keep up with some early 30's ex junior guys) and my golf game is better now than when I was younger.

As for the sex part, as Old fart alluded to, I am better "once" and have had many a compliment on my staying powers, as I call them, lol.

Use what you got to your advantage and "Mid Life" will bring on a new meaning!

You are what you eat! Stop eating crap (aka the standard/affluent western diet) and adopt a plant based diet. I'm a firm believer (and proof) that health is mostly dependent on nutrition. Listen to Bill.

Fyi, when he talks about protein supplement, he's talking plant based ie hemp hearts, pea protein, nut butters..stay away from the whey!

Had a job lined up when I moved out here.

Very Veronica,

I am convinced that humans are omnivores. I knew a guy that was on a vegan type diet for years because of his girfriend. After he broke up, he started eating meat. He gained some much needed weight and said he felt he had more energy and didn't get as sick as often.

Does the average person need to eat as much meat as they do? No they don't, but I do believe some meat is necessary.

First of all Clinton is a chronic liar so I wouldn't believe anything he says. Second If your going to select someone as an example to support your ideology, don't pick someone who looks and sounds like warmed up death.

The 40's are the best decade yet (I'm 41 now). You're smart enough not to do the dumb shit you did in your 20's, you can afford to do all the those things you wanted to do in your 30's, you now have the maturity to handle pretty much any situation thrown your way, and you're sure of who you are which brings a certain confidence to how you approach life. Life does not end at 40 my friend, it is the beginning of the good life......I am in the best shape of my life (just finished an Iron Man in June). To top it all off I find that young women are very attracted to men my age, beautiful women in their 20's and 30's approach me, start conversations and even ask me out.

A healthy diet (meat and whey protein included), lots of fun, exercise and sunshine combined with many pitchers of sangria and women in sundresses make the world a great place.

Dont get me wrong....I dont have problems what so ever with junior.....its just that in recent yrs it isnt the same as in my 20's or 30 for that matter. Recovery time is much longer and you tend to go soft sooner now.

I go for check ups and my blood circulation is more than fine, heart is fine, cholestrol is no problem, my weight isn't an issue, no disease etc.
Fact is my doctor said to me that I'm in great shape and somethings related to sexual issues may be in my mind. I dunno.

I think what I need is a lady to work with me and whip me back into shape. Being single may have this effect as well I think.

Regading Veronica's comment.....and I'm not going against her......My buddy is a hardcore Vegan and he gets sick more times any other person I know. He complains his stomach doesn't feel 100% alot of times and he's tired alot.

Between MF, BA, MJ and a whole alphabet of ladies on this board, I'm sure there is at least one that would enjoy "whipping" you back into shape.
