There's still a big taste difference, IMHO.
A better comparison would be "McCafe". Anybody here who can comment on that?

The profits of Starbucks have been surging despite heavy competition from both the low-end and high-end market segments. During the last quarter of 2010, Starbucks tripled their profits from that of 2009. For 2011, its about 20% up. Just wondering with the continued spike in the price of coffee ( Brazil's cash cow ) in the world market, does McDonald's actually make a profit offering their McCafe at that price point as in IKEA's breakfast at a dollar as well. On thing is for sure, Starbucks shareholders are happy again with Howard Schultz back at the helm. Howard Schultz is to Starbucks as Steve Jobs is to Apple. :) :)

Why stop going to starbucks? You could just get fresh cups and ask for a refill in the new starbucks cup after wetting the cup with old coffee and using your registered card, you never have to pay for starbucks coffee. People have been getting free coffee for years this way.

I normally don't drink coffee, I drink lattes.
I stopped going to Starbucks a few years ago when I discovered Artigianos.

Law of Supply & Demand, Growing demand for coffee is consistently getting bigger than the world supply. How long will McDonald's subsidize its McCafe for a BUCK for market share purposes?? At present economic times, the major players will have to adjust prices one way or another by at least 15% to maintain profitability. :) :)
