I'm planning a trip out to Edmonton from Toronto and thought I'd check out the Edmonton section of the PERB review board to get a sense of which SP I might want to see. I'm reading some great reviews of some awesome ladies. But, not one review has a link? What's that all about? Isn't a review useless without a link?

Just sayin....

But if any of you Perbites have any recommendations for great SPs in Edmonton, I'd love to hear about it. But please leave a link with your recommendation. :)

I don`t see anything in that thread that would suggest that a perbite could not post a link for the purposes of a review. The thing is, if the review board is difficult to use, then people won`t use it. And if people won`t use it, then Perb will have a harder time selling ads. I guess every board would have a problem with Shills, but that is a small price to pay to make the review board useful.

I wouldn`t mind hearing from a mod on this. Can a perbite post a link to an SP for the purposes of getting information on that SP from other Perbites?

What you say, PeaceGuy seems a little short sighted. This is an "ESCORT REVIEW BOARD". That is the main focus of this board and the primary reason why hobbiests come here. In the end, this board has to deliver value to the hobbiest. Period. If hobbiests do not see value in these reviews then they will stop coming. If pooners stop coming, then they will not click on ads and advertisers will not see much revenue from their ad investment on this site. When that happens, they stop investing and the board owners lose profit.

Suggesting that we sift through a Google results page on an SP name search is, I`m sorry, ridiculous. If PERB is truly concerned that reviews are doubling as SP ads, then they should not allow reviewers to mention the names of the SPs either. Afterall, like you say, we can Google the name of the SP being reviewed to get to her ad. So, isn`t this advertising by your definition? It`s just done in a way that significantly reduces the value of the review to the community. Look... if we agree that the value of the review relies on getting to the SP web site or ad, then why make it hard for the hobbiest to get the info they need? Just post the link.

Like I say, I`m in Toronto and frequent the Terb site. The reason I go there is because the reviews there are very useful. All reviewers, as a courtesy to their readers, post links. It makes the reviews valuable. As far as I can see, the reviews here on PERB are useless. It`s like me telling you that "Maria is the best lay in the world". What good does that do you?

You and I are not Paid Advertisers. However, I`m pretty sure that the term "non-paid advertisers" in the sticky is referring to SPs who are not advertisers. I highly doubt that the sticky is referring to hobbiests. By posting links in our reviews, our intention is not to advertise a particular SP or agency. It is simply to get or share some meaningful information with/from the community. So, posting a link in a review should not in any way be "construed to be advertising."

Mods??? Can we hear from you on this? I suspect Perbites want the links, but are afraid to post them for fear of being banned. Can a Mod clarify this for us?

OP, I think you are trying to argue with the messenger telling you about the rule here, he isn't the one who lobbied for it, ensures it is acted upon and/or suggesting he is a fan of it, so you don't really have to talk him out of it, I'm sure.

About the only thing you could do is contact all the paid advertisers and get them to get together and have admin reverse this rule, or at least lift it in regards to reviews? Not that long ago the admin popped in and basically said the paid advertisers of this site lobbied for it, got it, and the paid advertisers of the related sites, terb, etc, did not, so that is the only reason you don't see this policy on terb. I expect if the sps who pay for advertising on that site banded together to do the same, the links would be deleted/edited there as well.

And, outcall, really? Its Edmonton, you'd be better off going to an mp, rather than trying out any outcall via any agency. When in Rome, after all.
