Because they don't want them used against them when they marry a prince or run for office or get a big role opposite Johhny Depp? Because they don't want to be recognized by strangers on the street? It's totally cool and i understand and respect 100% as to why sp's dont show their face.

Have you ever been "outed" or whispered about in your nonescort-related social circles? How do you, or would you, handle a fellow student or acquaintance saying, "I saw your photo on an escort website...My, aren't you a naughty girl!" Just curious.
I have not been as a result of having my photo displayed on the Internet, but I have been outed in the sense that a friend knew about my work, and knew that I didn't want it to be discussed in our social circle, but did it anyway. That hurt. And it didn't hurt out of any sense of embarrassment, but it hurt because she just showed a complete lack of regard for my express wishes. I wasn't hiding my line of work from our social circle out of shame - I just didn't feel like having to educate every single person who found out about it, which is what I find myself doing when my work comes up with friends and new acquaintances.
It's a line of work which I'm very happy with, but which many people don't understand the first thing about. Explaining over and over again that "yes, I am happy", and "yes, I choose to do this", becomes quite tiresome and sometimes that's why it's easier to keep it a "secret" until someone becomes a closer friend.

I agree as well about explaining my choice and why it works for me is to repeptitive and when a few friends out'd me to everyone else I knew I felt really hurt by it and ended up spending a majority of my time with girls in the industry because it was easier then the whole by the way I am an escort conversation again. But only part of my family knows what I do and its because they have an open enough mind to digest that I am clean and intelligent adult and weighed the risks so they respect my decision with debate.
