There was a fellow on here several months ago asking the health nurse for advise. He said he had un-protected (BBBJ) from a SP (that’s far too polite)! He had gotten very sick, very quickly. The health nurse advised him that he could not get so sick so quickly?

Years ago I received a (BBBJ) from an Asian SP here in Vancouver. The following afternoon within a very short period of time I got very sick, very quickly, (within 12 hrs), peeing razor blades. (NGU)

Here’s why, several months ago I spent two months in a foreign hospital treated for:

Ureaplasma
Staphylococcus aureus
Ecoli bacteria
Anaerobe bacteria
Coxsackie virus

Thousands of dollars later, I’m infection free!

One would assume that with the amount of Asian SP’s offering (BBBJ) you might have some sort of idea of what he was going through?

My question to you would be; why are you not aware of how to isolate these pathogens, or even treat them? The day’s of here take these pills and you’ll be all better is a GROSS understatement!

My concern is there’s hundreds and hundreds of people out there that have suffered from these infections without proper treatment. Therefore it has the potential of spreading like a summer wildfire….YIKES!

Stop children what’s that sound, everybody look what’s going down!!!!!

Hi mdwanabe

I am glad that you are feeling better. It can certainly be frustrating when dealing with a medical condition especially if it takes 2 months to treat.

In regard to STI we have not found in Vancouver that a certain ethnicity of person would have a higher chance of passing a certain infection to you.

There are certainly areas in the world that have different strains of bacteria and viruses. For example we see certain resistant strains of gonorrhea that originated in Asia, but these can be passed on to other parts of the world from anyone.

When seeing people at the clinic for urethritis (hurts when you pee or discharge) in men we generally treat and test for the most common things. For a man who is having sex an STI is the most common cause of urethritis. The treatment we give for this would cover gonorrhea, Chlamydia and other common bacteria.

For most men this works fine. If after 1 week symptoms have not improved we generally recommend that they see their family doctor for further testing and treatment as something else may be causing the problem.

To answer your question the reason we do not test for all these things at the STI clinic is because of cost. We find that typical STI tests and treatment covers most men who have urethritis. If this is not solved the persons family doctor would do more test and treatments or even just refer you to a specialist (urologist).

HN,

Thank you for your clever response and your ethnic correction. I am not so certain that I share your optimism regarding your cure rate of infections. Exactly how would you define, (most)? When I first came to your clinic on west 12th you found Staphylococcus aureus bacteria in my discharge which I was given oral antibiotics which didn’t even come close to killing the infection? Later my GP was injecting me with penicillin which I later found out was resistant to the bacteria. He had the nerve to tell me “what I am injecting you with will kill anything and everything in your body”. He was right; it did kill every living healthy piece of flora in my body except for the Staph bacteria? Then he had the nerve to tell me I should see a shrink….LOL!

My concern is many of the western patients that are being treated in the foreign hospital where I was treated all have more than one pathogen, including viruses and we all share the same stories and frustrations with our health care system. Most commonly Staphylococcus bacteria and mixtures of other pathogens including the Chlamydia family, these pathogens are (most) all highly resistant to antibiotics and require special knowledge, understanding and treatment. I spent 20 years bouncing from one specialist to another with no positive results, and I know that there’s many more out there just like me.

Therefore these so called patients that don’t fall into your (most) category are not receiving proper treatment and it opens a HUGE door of a potential health epidemic! Come on these so called cost cuts are affecting many of your patients, you don’t even swab the urethra without a discharge anymore, need alone examine prostate fluid or sperm.

Actually the last young Indo Canadian doctor was the most honest doctor I ever visited. I shared my suspicion with him about my Mycoplasma/Ureaplasma infection and showed him the damage it was doing to my spine and joints. He said; “if what you’re telling me is the truth my recommendation is you will never get the level of medical care in Canada", and suggested I visit the foreign hospital I mentioned. I owe him HUGE and more importantly the doctors that eliminated my infections which I am certain came all in one nice tidy bunch from unprotected oral sex.

I know there are many other people out there suffering from these types of illnesses without proper medical treatment. I encourage all of you to step up to the plate and express your frustrations with our medical system!

In the far east, by a highly skilled Doctor that's light years ahead of our medical system. Now that's a good question, maybe the health nurse might answer that question?????????

Scary stuff. Gets me thinking about how drug-resistant strains of various STIs and diseases have been emerging more and more often as of late.

Anaerobic bacteria?

You mean the bacteria that lives in our stomach, colon, etc that simply exists free of oxygen? Throat bacteria wouldn't be anaerobic now, would it? Seems breathing would kill it...

HN...can someone even have ureaplasma for 20years without proper diagnosis? Do people carry around staph and ecoli in their throats??? Since when does anaerobic mean dangerous???

Md-wanna-be might want to do better research if planning to fear-monger.

Yes very scary stuff! It’s a known fact that many counties have been over abusing antibiotics for years, with more and more strains of resistant bacteria.

The interesting part of my unfortunate experience was; the hospital where I was treated shows you all their findings. It’s so cool to see your sperm under the microscope or to see what your white blood cells look like.

Furthermore, to see the pathogens growing in cultures, such as bacteria, fungus, and mediums that turns positive and valid explanation of what you’re seeing.

I have met other western patients being treated that have tested negative for Chlamydia in western countries and had a positive test results in the foreign hospital where I was treated.

It really makes you think twice, doesn’t it?
