The scent of a pussy

I was surfing around the net with question: Where is the scent of a pussy produced? Which glands are responsible etc?

I have always had the same flowery, creamy scent until recently and I was puzzled as to what had happened. The doctor ruled out STDS and other things, but, I was on drugs for a strep throat and he said I could be experiencing the after affects of having all my normal flora being destroyed.

After surfing around government medical sites and the like I have come to the conclusion that no one really knows for sure. They just know where sweat is produced, but, they always say it has no odour.

But, I did bump into this funny site about what a vagina tastes like. I think the smell and the taste must be produced in two different places because it sure doesn't taste as good as it smells! In fact, I would say it tastes like nothing much.

The only websites that discuss odour are ones discussing bad odour.

It isn't always a menopause thing either cause I had a very sexy Aunt who, even in her late fifties, if you walked into her bedroom there was an overwhelming scent of pussy, I mean the good kind. Used to puzzle me as a kid until my own scent came in. (She was a very active woman.)

Not to make this too long! Just that the scent of a woman is such an important part of our sexuality and yet we never talk about it, except when things go wrong.

In closing, a fellow went into the bank to get a loan for his business venture. "Look" he says to the banker "I've discovered a spray that can make a pussy smell like a peach"...."Listen" says the banker to the man "When you find a spray that can make a peach smell like a pussy we're in business"

I've always felt it hard to describe the taste and smell and I'm relieved other people have a hard time too. Thanks for the great link, was a fun read!

Scent of a Pussy

I think I saw this movie. The Al Pacino part was played by a midget named Teddy Tripod.

Ha Ha! Hey Alize, what do you eat? They say vegetarians taste better, so, where does that leave us meat eaters?

When I eat a lot of Indian food I know my scent changes. Funny eh? And too much garlic can be interesting, or, embarrassing, unless your bfs name is Mario. I know a gay fellow told me that food changes the taste of sperm, don't know if many guys on here have much experience with that :)

I eat a lot of yogurt, honey and cinnamon, so, I am usually pretty sweet too.

In fact, I wish they made pussy scented room deodorizers. That would be a lovely thing! But, would men ever get any work done? Or would there be a population explosion? Or just explosions in general?

I suspect that like guys, girls taste more bitter when they eat more meat, sweeter with more veg/fruit.

My doctor's appointments! I feel sorry for him. I am very frank, because, my sexuality is important to me and I expect answers to my questions.

It must be tough for him because he squirms in his seat sometimes and his face can get a bit flushed. I never thought a doctor would be embarrassed.

I just tell him I am on Plenty of Fish and doing a round of sampling and I need info. That way when I ask for my screening tests he doesn't ask why.

I recall reading somewhere aeons ago that Renaissance court ladies used vulvar secretions, rubbed onto bosoms and shoulders, to attract men.

Tried to research it and came up with this:

".........The use of perfume as an enhancement and not concealment of genitalia and hormone odours has been in practice till ancient times. It was the knowledgable ancient Egyptian women who used Kyphi rolled in miniscule balls, placed in the vulva. They also used amber mixes and civet. The Hindus also used the smell of female genitalia as a classification point for women, in which no one is left unappreciated. In Shakespeare's times it was common for men and women to offer apples to the object of their affection that had been saturated in the sweat of the armpit. That was meant to be a signification of desire and perhaps an early attempt at judging whether the prospective lover's pheromones would intermingle well with their sensibilities.
In the Memoirs of Casanova, we come across an observation that there is a hidden something in the air of a lover's bedroom that would make it very easy to choose between it and Heaven itself. So much is the infatuation that a beloved's body produces in the soul. And on that note who can forget the infamous epistle of Napoléon to Joséphine when he passionately wrote to her: "Je réviens en trois jours; ne te lave pas!" (I return in three days, don't wash yourself)

Care for an apple anyone?

I have no idea about scent specifically but I have done a lot of reading and research about the female genitals . When a woman gets aroused the normally acidic environment of the vagina changes to a non acidic one that is sperm friendly . The glands that produce the fluid responsible for vaginal lubrication ie changing the vaginal environment are called the Bartolins gands . these are different from the skein's gland that is responsible for female ejaculation. Hope that helps.

Ha ha well this might be a little off the topic. But I remember someone said this to me. If you have a deep belly button, and stick your finger in it and wiggle it around in there. If you smell your finger afterwards.....it smells like pussy. I thought they were full of it. But it really does lol.

Just figured I would through that out there. Enquiring minds want to know lol.

I am sure that you have tried this and know it all already but no one mentioned it so I figure I'll be the one to sound like a broken record.

I don't know what gland or mixture of glands that cause the scent but I do know that bacteria has a lot to do with it. Not bad bacteria, but our own, and a lot of times when we go on anti-biotics this will kill off some or all of our good bacteria. Have you tried using boric acid capsules? You can buy them over the counter? Or using a treatment like canesten or monostat?? Since you don't seem to have any other symptoms just use the 100mg ones, not the massive doses. Also increasing yogurt in your diet if you aren't lactose intolerant will help bring back some of your good bacteria.

Good luck
I did go on antibiotics for strep throat a while back and I hadn't been the same since. Went on another round and this time I absolutely flooded my body with these probiotic acidophilus pearls, and "Ta Da" I am so smooth and creamy I feel twenty again, and that lovely warm pleasant aroma that, as sevenofnine mentioned, can waft off the body: honeysuckle and musk.

If a girl smells very pleasant she has definitely not had uncovered sex. Sperm tends to cancel out the pretty smell. :(

Probiotic Pearls are also great for acne. I recommended it for someone with chronic problems and there was an improvement within 2 days. Way better than he had experienced with anti-biotics.

Ja, I did research and found that the positive bacteria on our skin produce these good aromas when they are happy. In spring, when I was younger, I used to get this neat vitamin'y' smell on my forearms, when the spring sun hit the skin. That was always in May. I would sit in class with my nose buried in my arms ignoring the teacher.

I wonder if these Asian micro girls, whose scents are complained about, are perhaps not getting their accustomed diet and if constant daily use of lubrication and friction from condoms is causing reactions. Also, the daily exposure to foreign saliva which can be loaded with bad bacteria, from gingivitus to streptococcus, may cause reactions.

Btw, for mature women like myself, a drop in estrogen levels is linked to drop in friendly bacteria.

Well, I am 'happy happy happy'....here is the website for the Pearls. There is also a vaginal suppository for re-establishing the 'happy critters' to your love tunnel.

There is evidence that the oral Pearls can help men who have yeast problems, too.

Love this thread! Great stuff Laurel. First your Dr - as sweet and embarrassed as he may be:) is right. Your vagina is generally acid to kill unwanted intruders, regular occupants stay there and help. Changes can alter the chemistry and that can throw off the balance and allow different smelling occupants to 'take over'. This can be really nasty smelling - just depends on the mix.

Smell and taste are related. Parts of our 'taste' are actually smell which is why for instance wine tasters take wine to the back of their throats. It's part of how we get 'aftertaste'.

Generally I've found that no two women smell/taste the same. I'm really curious as to why women are so varied in this and in so many other aspects of their sexual responses. (See my thread about squirters) My guess is that it to make really individual marker statements and for their partners to get to build an intimate memory of them. (Ladies, are men as varied in their intimate smells/responses?)

I've learned that even if a partner's smell is unattractive to you at the start if you really like the person and really love DATY you get used to it quite quickly. (Ladies what % of guys really like DATY and do it with proper commitment?)

Here are some of the smells/tastes I have identified. One of my favourites is like wet autumn leaves on the ground as they begin to rot. Another is maybe similar it's like wine. Then there are the variations on musk, of different strengths and pungency. And really not much fish - that I can recall.

I think there is a difference between the initial taste and how it develops as you go on. And the ejaculate tastes different again. I'm not so familiar with that.

LOVE THIS THREAD!! - any other comments?
