That's a load of BS, I've had a number of fantastic sessions with agency girls out east. Vixens, GOE, Select, Cupids, Mirage, Dreammakers, Roommates, Toronto Passions all have or have had girls who were the buzz of the industry at one time or another.
I'm not knocking any of the Indy ladies but as a GUY who actually hobbies Toronto has some incredible ladies working for some reputable agencies. Just because you don't like agencies does not mean they are all bad.
My point is any time you put someone else between you and the sp, you create an unnecessary distance. The sps seeing someone for the first time often understandably wary -- they have no idea who they are about to see, no idea at all if their personal safety or preferences are being respected in exchange for the $ agency fee. They work for a great deal less than independents, often giving up 100 of the session fee, which most often has them working for 150/hr. They risk unemployment if they do not comply, they risk fines if they turn someone down. Seeing someone who is working under these kinds of conditions creates an imbalance that does not exist for independents. When you see an indy, you know its because she wants to see you particularly, not that she's worried what will happen if she doesnt.
The agency driven environment out east has led to a degradation of the industry as a whole, burns up young sps in a year or less, since they are easily replaced, and offers little or no support. They either do it (regardless of personal preference) or they won't get booked. The only ones who truly benefit from agencies out there (many of which are unlicensed, since licenses are not required), are clients who enjoy increased required risky services and agencies who collect their fees.
It's like anything, if someone is an employee, they have to do what they are told, or suffer the consequences. This is not the best industry to be in where you are told what you are going to have to do. Agencies are no better than pimps, for most sps.
