Have you put on any weight since last you last measured? Seriously, groin fat can effect the measured (and usable) length. It's also possible you simply pressed an extra 1/2 inch into your groin last time you measured.

The average penis is five to six inches long.

There are a few normal changes that can happen with aging that affects penis size. When men are in their 40-50 they can notice that their erections are not as hard. Also as men get older again the material that makes up the penis gets less elastic.

My two cents:

Measuring a penis is tricky business, often it depends on the time of day, state of excitement and how long of a "rest" period your bad boy had. If you're concerned that you are losing "size" then you should be more scientific about it.
