So what would Christ think? First and foremost The Man would NOT pass judgment, people do the best they can until they learn to do better....... next, I'm thinking he'd show the way to heal the hearts and minds of any who might be suffering and then, I'm pretty certain he'd help any who wanted help to find and live their calling in life WHATEVER that might be. So how can those who claim to follow his teachings do any less????????????
LOL, you sure dont know much about Christ. First and foremost He would pass judgement, that is exactly what He does, and are you sure you want His way to healing hearts and minds? He said to pluck out an eye or cut off an arm if it causes you to sin, as for a life calling, He said to leave friends, family, whoever, sell and renounce everything you own and follow him. The reason Christians who follow His teachings do less is because it really is a sacrifice and hard price to persevere. :)

A benevolent being, God or otherwise, would have compassion not judgement for those people, and his/her followers should practice in the same way.
LOL, yeah we should demand that God and His followers act a certain way, no wonder He doesnt have compassion.

Ah Gomez - wrong, wrong and wrong LOL Specifically Christ says it's God's business to pass judgment, sin is defined as doing that which is against your own higher good (SIN = Self Inflicted Nonsense) and giving up worldly goods to live in a place where you can manifest what you need like loaves and fishes is also a good thing - Don't confuse metaphore with literal truth. Nice try tho LOL

Actually God DOES demand his followers to act a certain way or did you not read the book? (New not old Testament) You're typical of those who continually try to invent God in their own image instead of trying to ascend to His and that's ok too. I made specific choices about what I WANT to believe and I'm perfectly willing to pay if I'm wrong. My point is that I'm willing to be wrong but it won't be you who makes that call LOL

Isn`t going against the 10 Commandments the basis of sin?

It all sounds very pavlovian. Give up something.....get free fish and bread. (Don`t forget to ring the bell.)

Actually I accept God for what He is, a holy, vengeful, jealous and punishing God and that it is impossible to ascend to His level. Jesus is God, every person will kneel at His feet and be judged, literally! :)

Where is that written? Is that a Catholic thing? And not pavlovian at all - you get whatever is in your power to manifest. What is pavlovian is following a human beings set of rules for behavior which was invented to control you and being rewarded with a pat on the head and a hand in your wallet.

I never said anything about demand LOL, a higher being would just naturally have compassion as a quality.
Yes, but if you refuse to believe because God doesnt meet your standards then you are basically demanding He must before you will. ;)

The fact he doesnt just wipe us all out proves He is compassionate, if I created something and it rebelled against me I would destroy it, but then Im human and that is why He is God. :)

God wrote it, and they remain the same even after 2000 years of translation and willful distortion, go figure huh.
break the rules = self inflicted nonsense = freedom of choice to break the rules = pay whatever price is levied - This is hard math?

LMAO!!!!

I never learned about manifest destiny from Christianity. In fact, I learned the opposite. Faith, trust, and prayer, and you will get whatever God thinks you should, according to his Will. You dont ask for food and have it delivered to your door.

Pavlovian cuz they are trained to have faith, trust, and prayer, in return for eternal life. We can eliminate the bell....just play a hymn.

grins - ok just making sure we're saying the same thing - I try not to mix up God with religion since they are clearly not the same thing.

I try to keep religion away from rationality.

Having faith is not a rational decision, even though it could be a correct one. I respect others having their opinion....just dont judge me based on views that we may not share.

And now, back to our original programming......:)

and our original programming had something to do with a hypocrit pushing distorted facts onto a willing public in order to win the hearts and minds of the Christian Right who will pay for her book in a total pavlovian response to a lifetime of conditioning to cough up money when they hear a hymn? Or did I make a mistake? :)

Al Einstein did say the most expensive thing a human can own is a closed mind right? ;-)

That is where you are confused....God and Jesus condemn me to eternal hell, if it was up to me I would live in a mansion with golden streets. :)
