After visiting my regular this afternoon I decided to stay home to enjoy the top west and east teams against each other...

OMG, I knew that the Flyers are supposed to be big and they play rugged...but I did not know that they are all DIVERS...the referees should call more diving penalties...it is embarassing watching these big guys diving and falling all over the place with a gentle touch, it's turning into a joke looking at these guys...they act like they are sissies...even women hockey players won't fall down this easy...

Maybe they had some Cheez Whiz stuck to their skates.
I know that they are big and therefore comes with limited mobility to a large amount of the players in Philly...but diving way too much, it's embarrasing, maybe Ron McClean of CBC should comment on this...

Trust me if you have played or coached at a higher level than midget, there are coaches who get schooled by "dive experts". How to solicit a penalty at an opportune moment is an art form. It is part of the game within the game.

Problem is the zebra's do not go to the same school. Dumb a a post is how I describe half of the NHL refs.

right behind you!
You have to remember the zebra's are not always on top of the play, and they call only what they see. When your up in the stands or watching on TV you can see a different angle. Many moons ago, I played pretty competitive Hockey, (and dam I was penalized a lot.... LOL) NO shit ref's miss alot of stuff, but that is part of the fun....

I have played and coached at a high level. The good zebra's are also good players in their own right. The mediocre zebra's were the ones who couldn't play at a high level and really should not have been there in the first place.

NHL referees tend to chalk up a few minor infractions and then give a penalty to even it up so to speak. That way they are not seen to be calling every infraction and slowing up the game. Remember when the new interference rules came in? Damn what a nightmare for the first three months of the season.

Diving is something that is taught and if done correctly is difficult to accurately call as a penalty.

I have the issues with the NHL refs now is that the refs from far away (who could not really see what happen) always call the penalties whereas the close refs don't...this is getting rediculous...

Quit being ridiculous yourself.

Haven't u seen Burrows dive? Or Kesler embellish penalties? Or our best faker, Lui, as soon as someone touches him slightly, he dives? What an idiot.

I've seen Lui get penalized for unsportsmanlike. U just hv your head so far stuck in rah rah nucks that it disgusts me we r cheering for the same team. ALL teams dive.

Sure, all teams dive, but not as much as the Flyers - they should change their teams name to Philadephia Divers.

I can't get the Philly logo to stay up but the no diving sign would fit nicely inside the "P"
