Velasquez simply overpowered Brock Lesnar in the first round.
I did not expect that.
Quite the fight.

Well I had my cash on Cain
But wasn't expecting that
Brock really can't fight from his back, I doubt he even trains much for it

Sanchez looked good
Shields looked weak, won't last 5 rounds with GSP
I miss Hubbas UFC thread

damn, i shoulda put some money down on this fight. i called it a month ago!! lol. put my prediction in the thread below as well.
Good call.

Cain was just too much for Brock. Velasquez rocks the house!!!!! :) :)

The world of sports just gets more exciting. Rangers vs. Giants in the World Series. And now Velasquez is the new champ. Let's see what happens when Manny goes up against the taller Margarito in Dallas next month.

I was very surprised...I thought Cain would win if it goes past 2nd or 3rd round. But, When Cain sprung up from Brock's take down, like it was nothing...I knew Cain would win.

Thankfully, I didn't put money on it...since I thought 60/40 Lesnar would win.

This fight proves, Lesnar is really all about power and speed...nothing more...he has virtually no MMA skills.

Fedor is a similar style fighter to Cain in many ways. Fundamentally, Cain is a wrestler and Fedor is a Sambo practioner. But both guys have the same build, same calm demeaner and same fusion of power and speed. I think lesnar may have a better chance of taking fedor down but ultimately fedor's speed and power on the feet would not bode well for Lesnar. He just doesn't have the technique/experience to deal with a guy like that.

After broc took that knee to the head it was pretty much over he didn't recover from that blow. Thats what makes the heavy weight fights so unpredictable and kinda low paced normally. I prefer the little guys way more action but way less knock outs

I read somewhere that there was a side bet that if Lesnar loses, he is to return to WWE for a while, hence Undertaker's "wanna do it?" comment. Haven't found the source yet.

the knee to the head definitely put him on ice, but earlier during one of his shoots on velasquez, he collected a very hard, short uppercur to the face that really rocked him. that might have been the hit that got him bleeding under the eye. i don't think he was himself after that hit and eventually lost it. but i was amazed he lasted as long as he did. i don't want to take anything away from velasquez, he's a damn good fighter, but if there's a rematch, it could be a different story

He doesn't have technique. Doesn't matter how strong you are, technique matters very much. BJ Penn, Anderson Silva, Fedor and GSP have excellent technique. And they're the best.
That is pretty obvious...but if Brock got Cain down, and kept him down...Lesner would simply overpower him and smash his head in.

Any ideas why they have some beef with each other? (that is: Undie and Brock)
So Lesnar, who's an ungodly freak of athletic nature, just lost an actual title in an actual competitive match, gets called out by the guy he used to have fake fights with? Sure, the beef between these guys is real, but it has to do with pro-wrestling behind-the-scenes locker room crap. Lesnar should have said ""Actually, no, I just lost an actual fight, so not my best time to be challenged by you. But the next time I want to pull my punches, I'll give you a ring."

Anyway, because of this "altercation," the wrestling sites have been going ape and speculating about Lesnar vs. Taker at Wrestlemania. Yes, it's being said, out there in the ether, that the WWE had made an offer to Lesnar regarding the giant, annual PPV, but Lesnar is under contract with the UFC and, even if he wanted to, couldn't compete in the WWE unless it was in some sort of BS non-physical capacity. UFC president Dana White has gone on record, speaking to TMZ, saying "Brock Lesnar is still under contract with the UFC ... he is not going to wrestle in the WWE. He cannot wrestle, box or fight anywhere else

So, now that Brock lost to Cain, Undie wants to take him...although he admits that he is twenty years too late to get into MMA...sounds like 'cocaine dreams'.

Brock is big, and he can adopt a scary demeanour, but, when he was on the ground shielding himself from the blows without attempting to do more than protect his face, he showed his achilles heal, and Undie saw it and wants to take advantage of it...
