Vaginal Lips and Grinding

Hi Health Nurse,

I just had an SP who decided to grind her vaginal lips against my uncovered penis in order to get an erection. After a couple of grinds, I realized what she was doing and asked her to stop as I did not feel it was safe.

There was no penetration whatsoever during the grinding. The shaft of my penis did rub against the lips of her vagina. I took a shower in about 15 minutes after and cleaned my penis if that matters.

What should I be on the lookout for in terms of STI in this case? Is it high risk for HIV or another STI?

In regard to genital grinding the main concern would be from STI that can be transmitted from skin to skin contact e.g. Genital warts, herpes simplex virus and syphilis.

In regard to these infections come to the clinic or your doctor if you notice a sore on your penis or a wart. Just make sure when you go for your next STI tests that you get them to include a syphilis test.

From what you have described I don't believe there is a risk for HIV, chlamydia or gonorrhea. These infections are possibly in the vaginal fluid and you really need to come in contact with this fluid for there to be a risk.
