Just got news that Yahoo webmail accounts now have 100 Meg space and can handle up to 3-5 Megs per email! That is very impressive (I wonder what the catch is from Yahoo).

So, if Hotmail has only 2 Meg space, who in their right mind would continue to use hotmail? I think I will switch to yahoo soon.

The 100 megs from Yahoo is free. If you want Mail Plus then.. ..

"Mail Plus offers tougher virus and spam protection, a virtually unlimited 2GB of storage, no graphical ads, and more for only $19.99/year." --- Kev

I wouldn't be surprised if Hotmail followed suit very shortly.

I believe the Yahoo move was in response to the up and coming Google mail (GMail), which will offer 100Mb, but also will scan email text and supply link ads (like their search ads) based on words or phrases (which may be somewhere between a hassle and a major privacy infringement, depending upon your view of it). With Yahoo at 100Mb now, I doubt Google will be able to lure users away unless they do away with that ad system...

Actually, GMail will offer a wopping 1 gigabyte of free space, not 100 mb.

Google has no privacy policy though..they are watching what you are searching for etc and are up front about that. Not sure if i'd want my mail going through them...

Thanks for the correction, Makhno.

I still don't know if that would be enough to entice me to a system that scans the text of my messages.

BTW, the new Yahoo mail is significantly faster than the old one (which was turtle slow). Also, my ad blocking software (AdSubtract Pro) is much more successful at blocking all the ads...

GMail? It's a new Google email service. They give you 1000M (1G) space. Sounds too good to be true? Check out gmail.google.com but it's in testing right now so it's not available to the general public.

SB dont forget the controversy about Google using your info for their own use. They track all your email info ? al least that what I was told so be aware of the potential problem.
