I spend about half of my time in Cologne these days. I will say it has been quite interesting exploring the companionship biz from here. I have spent time with companions in a number of countries. I have had more pure GFE experiences here than anywhere. My basic issue is that I almost never sacrifice looks for service. Lol, I have been brainwashed by the modern media view of beautiful women. I have found in Germany I have not had to make difficult trade off decisions. You can get both.

I have found that for the most part it is not a major issue. It can be a challenge but like any challenge if you look at it correctly it can be an interesting puzzle.

It is very easy to communicate the basics. However, concepts are difficult. For instance, in my room I had the novel I am reading on my nightstand. Nicole asked me what the book was about. It took some time to get through it but in the end she understood. She speaks some English but is definitely not fluent. I have found this often to be the case. I have also found though that if you are patient and take the the time to work through language barriers to explain something that it will be appreciated.

I travel as an American and receive a set of responses that correspond to that. I have generally not had many issues. There have been a couple of times when I picked up on Anti-American sentiment. However, I would note that I usually feel that it works in my favor. Professional companionship is a money driven industry. The general perception/stereotype of Americans is that we have money and thay we tip well.

I am not sure how individuals of varying cultural backgrounds will fare. I find that different European countries have strong predjudices against certain cultures.

It is interesting though, I have been surprised. I traveled in Morocco a few years ago. This was just after the US had placed an air strike on a chemical plant in another North African country. The general feeling was that Anti-American sentiment was high in the region and travelers were warned concerning this. I spent a lot of time in discos in Morocco. These are basically brothels. (*One of the most unique environments I have ever been in. They look like any dance club in the world. However, any girl in the place is a prostitute.* and there were some very beautiful women there) While I did not partake of any sexual activities (fear of AIDS), I hung out, bought drinks, tipped, danced, and had my share of clothes-on making out. I did not see anything that made me think these girls cared that I was American. I was a man with money and I was willing to spend it. So they were willing to spend time with me and insure I was having fun. Any number of them offered to go to my hotel room with me. This was true in Casablanca, Fez, Marrakesh, and Meknes. It was fun.

I will say though that I have on more than one occasion spent time with companions who spoke zero English. Seeing as how I profess to enjoying a more rounded experience with companions, I am a bit ashamed to admit this. Then it quickly becomes mostly about sex. Even in these situations, you can find ways to show respect and insure that you are maintaining boundaries and moving forward at a pace that is comfortable for both. I spent three hours in Vienna with a girl who could not understand a single word of English. We had a great time. We even found ways to make each other laugh.

As I said at the beginning, at times, it is a challenge. Because, even when agencies communicate that a girl speaks English, it does not mean that she speaks very much. But it can be a fun challenge to figure out. A little patience goes a long way.

Are there documentations or web sites where prejudices against others or cultural clashes are listed in table formats for easy reference ? I mean, I would respect and prefer someone who clearly states that they like and dislike certain people to those pretending they are not prejudiced while in fact they are.

This is not SP-related, but while in Romania a few years ago my parents and their friends used to be stopped by police for "routine check" simply because they are not Caucasians. At first, they used to resort to quick cash solutions (a.k.a a little money goes a long way, short otherwise). Later on though, they found that simply presenting the Canadian passport was just as effective, if not better. Not sure if this method is recommended or has been tried while seeking professional companions.
