This is what i love about the holidays. A yearly custom that turned into an annual tradition, this tournament, nurtured by TSN, has become one of my personal highlights on the sporting calendar. Some may say this year's is more significant than others due to the lockout, but I think it is impervious to the NHL and often trumps it. I love this tournament and it has become part of my own tradition.
Also, I am one of those people who just have to watch it live. So here I am, 10 after three in the morning, writing this during the second intermission (7-3 for Canada over Germany at this point btw). Sure I could PVR it, but with social media being what it is, you know you will see the result sometime between the time it ends and the time you watch it. So I go all hardcore and watch it as it happens.
