With the Junos this weekend...

...I wonder if the MPs are being kept busy by out-of-town music industry types?

In fact, here's a question: how busy do the SPs get when major events are happening here in town that draw in a lot of travellers? I'm thinking the Rodeo Finals, Fringe, K-days. Grey Cup. Heritage Classic back in November. The track and field thing from a couple of years back.

I remember years ago when many SWs from all over the country would go to Calgary for the Stampede and then come to Edmonchuk for the then-more-prestigious Klondike Days to swell the streets of Boyle St with their numbers. Even if you weren't a pooner, the eye candy was outstanding!

So do major events increase SP business?

You know, I'm sure that some MP's must be getting a little extra business from the Juno's... but personally, I've only seen one client. Sometimes it depends on the event taking place in the city. I'm sure that the Rodeo Finals, Grey Cup and those types of venues increase business quite a bit.

when i called around inquiring, a lot of places recommended to book in advance, and told me they were busy or would be busy that weekend.
