Just read two great articles on this subject that I love. They are suitible for the novice or an old wino like me.

While I know how to drink wine, I don't know how to put a link in this post. Therefore, here is how I got there.

By the way went to a wine makers dinner with 6 botique wineries represented.

Go to David Lakes' dinner tonight celebrating his 25 years as Columbia Winery's wine maker.

If you have some spare cash laying around, the 2001 Napa Valley Cab's are outrageous. Spectator calls it the greatest vintage ever. I had to put off some pooning to load up my celler.

great topic DWB

Anything Napa Valley is delicious. MY ATF.

I recently starting bottling my own wine because they offered a Stags Leap Merlot. I have added an Australian Chardonnay & a New Zealand Pinot Noir to my collection as well :) cheers

Gina, a little splash of Rodney Strong cab running down the small of your back needing to be licked...........

Granted it's from Sonoma, not Napa though.

I heard "sideways" is good.

About thread topic,

2001 Napa Cabs, huh? Good tip as I'm going to SF next week & I always bring a couple of empty case shippers with me. Have you ever gone to K&L wine by the airport? Great pricing and the staff picks are spot on.

Sonoma is really great to visit and makes some great wine, but I really like Napa. Used to work in the silicon Valley in the 90s and picked up a lot of large format California Cabs. 94 Napa Silver Oak is one on my ATF.

My tip, 6 litres look cool & are impressive, but are a bitch to store properly & where do you serve such a beast? That's 30-40 glasses of wine!

Sonoma is a close second!

body shooter season! I'm soooo excited, I just picked up my 20 year old Fladgate Port & was given a 1988 Cab-sauv by Hafner in the Alexander Valley- 4 xmas dinner. Better plan the menu, LOL

I here this buzz about 2002 being a great wine year - feedback on this................and your opinion on BC wines.
