I had no idea that was Heath Ledger. He sounds a lot like Nicholson's Joker in the original. I read some other blogs that suggested Crispin Glover or Adrien Brody as better choices for the Joker, interesting alternatives. But I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out as I really liked the start-over with Batman Begins.

The six and a half minute prolgue from the IMAX version of I Am Legend

Unfortunately, embedding is disabled on this one, so you'll have to follow the link. If you haven't seen it yet, enjoy (hopefully, despite the crappy "videocam in a theater" quality).

Well it's rumoured to have 5 villians in this one.Mainly Joker,Two-Face, a mob boss Falcone,Jonathn Crane(Scarecrow)and Arkham Asylum cameo shots.

Remaking the entire series if this is the formula for the second film ,where is the Penguin and Cat Woman?

So how does the Joker fit into this one? If we recall, Jack Nicholson played the Joker in the first remake of Batman starting Michael Keaton.

It's still hard to grasp that the Joker is so young. In the movies and tv he wasn't. I dunno about the comic books though.

As much as I like Jack Nicholson, I didn't care for his role as the Joker. He was just a campy Nicholson in clown makeup. Though I am avoiding all the previews and reviews so nothing gets spoiled for me, I am glad to hear that Ledger's version is how the Joker was originally created: a homicidal lunatic. This falls in line with Bale's portrayal of Batman as a vengeful vigilante as originally intended. Batman only became campy and child-friendly because comics changed from adult pulp fiction to something directed at kids. Not sure what the comics are like these days, but I remember reading Dark Knight Returns many years ago and it was a return to the original dark and grim.
